1969 Ford Galaxie GT500 Engine Swap Restomod Render
Digital artist imagines a restomod 1969 Ford Galaxie with a power plant from the most powerful Mustang ever.
Virtual Restomod
Let's just start by acknowledging the fact that these renderings keep getting more and more realistic by the day. And this set comes to us from a usual suspect. If you're active on social media and follow auto enthusiast pages or topics, chances are, you've come across the creations of Abimelec Arellano. The digital artist virtually answers a lot of 'what if' questions us with his work.
Ford Galaxie
As popular as restomod builds have become in the last decade, the Ford Galaxie is not a vehicle we often see as the basis for such a project. These renderings take us from 'what if' to 'why not' is a matter of hours... or days (we're not totally sure how much time creating a digital model such as this actually takes!) Abimelec Design has reimagined the 1969 Galaxie 500 Fastback with some subtle styling modifications and a modern power plant.

Two-Tone Look
In terms of aesthetics, the classic Ford has been given a NASCAR-style two-tone color scheme. The body wears a light teal hue accented by a pearl red top portion. And the deep dish steelie wheels match the red from the roof, sorta like color-matching your T-shirt with your shoes!

Aggressive Stance
The wheel arches have been opened up a tad to fit the larger wheels. Spacing the wheels out to the edge of the bodywork, along with lowering the ride height of the Galaxie all give it a significantly more powerful stance. The tires appear to have a staggered setup, with more width at the rear axle. And that's appropriate, considering what this hypothetical restomod has under the hood.

Shelby GT500 Power
For the power source, the artist has imagined the Galaxie with the Shelby GT500's supercharged 5.2-liter V8 unit. That's 750 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque for output in stock form. That's enough to create a gnarly existence in the virtual realm, let alone in reality.
