Deep Blue Beauty

This Acapulco Blue, 1968 Ford Mustang GT California Special spotted over at AutoEvolution was styled specifically for the California market. With its gorgeous blue paint, drop top roof and 390ci motor under the hood, we say it certainly fits the part.

California Ready

Poised and ready, this Mustang's deep Acapulco Blue exterior is reminiscent of California ocean and sky. With its crisp white drop-top and dual exhaust, this classic muscle car is aching for a cruise down the California coastline.

Mustang Muscle

The iconic Mustang hood and grill are on full display here. The large openings and swept vents evoke a sense of power and grace. With only 4000 examples out there in the wild, this Mustang is as rare as it is beautiful.

Blue Throughout

Here we get a glimpse of the extensive blue theme. The Acapulco Blue is rolled right into the interior which continues through to the liners, seats, and even the dash, giving it a rich and cool feel anyone would enjoy.

Prestine Interior

Clean chrome accents are the crowning jewels here. They offset the blue interior just perfectly. Oversized gauges and a massive shifter on the floor let everyone know this Mustang is just as much beast as it is beautiful.

Fun for Four

We see the blue theme concluded here as it wraps seamlessly from the door panels into the rear seats. The seats are set off by contrasting Navy blue centers and look cozy enough for two should you want a few extras cruising with you down the California strip.

Heart of the Beast

Here we get to what makes this car really fun, its fire-breathing powerplant. Typically, the California Special came with a 289ci (4.7-liter) V8 engine, however, a few examples, like this one, in particular, were lucky enough to get a much more potent 390ci. Classic Mustang styling, a drop-top roof, and big American power make this Mustang truly a worthy homage to California culture.
