2011 V6 limited to 115mph?

Hello

i got an 2011 v6 mustang and the speed is limited to 115mph is that with all the v6 mustangs or is it an extra speed limite for europe?
can i delete the speed limite and if yes how?
or is it a electronic issue and i have to get a look from the dealer?

thanks for any help and comments

If you get an aftermarket tune that will delete the speed limiter.

Hi to Luxembourg

a good adress is Peter Schropp (Schropp-Fahzeugtechnik) @ Germany. There you can get the SCT flasher or a personal tune on his dyno as well. He's very familiar to Mustangs.

btw the V6 is good for 160 mph. (with a brake and suspension upgrade )

Greetings from good old germany

Dennis

Which tires are on your car? Base tires don't have a very high speed rating so you may need to upgrade them before going very fast.

^ Great Advice there!

How is the aftermarket availabilty in Luxembourg and Germany? The SCT tuner lets you adjust the speed limiter, and many other things. I'm saving up for the Intake/Tuner package for my GT!

Sure wish I could be "bored" by going "only" 115 on a regular basis!

hehe
i love the autobahn / Mustang combo too. I tried a topspeed run last sunday and had to brake two times at 172 mph ( 273 km/h @ TomTom-navigation) 'cause of traffic. There was still a little space for more.
I think the 2011 GT can easily reach the 175mph, maybe more in stock-mode.

I'm looking forward to my dyno-tune at Peter Schropp in september.

cheers

That's awesome. I wish we had places to drive that fast legally here.

Sorry to change subject, Dennis; I've wondered what 5.0's would do with no governor. That's just awesome!!

Neil, on driving on Autobahn, I bet it's just a great feeling! I bet in your V6 it'll be really cool!! Hope you can get it running faster so you can have some real fun! Please report back with info on it.

Sorry to hear that, even my old 00 V6 Camaro had a 119 mph speed limiter. Why 119? Who knows

I have a 2007 V6 4.0 which also has a limit of 115 mph.
It was ordered with the GT wheels and tires.
We put it on the dyno for giggles the other week.
We found out it hit the speed limiter in 3rd gear of the auto tranny.

a SCT X3 tuner was used to delete the limit.
