I would like to purchse the 3.73 gears for my 5speed stick V6 and would like to get recommendations and places to buy from.
also I want to do my own install and would like to know the difficulty and what other parts I need to purchase like shims and stuff.
Do not want to install LSD for now but just the gears to help with take off and to sae the clutch.

Get them at summit racing they have the best prices and great customer service.
Unless you have previous experience I'd recommend not installing your own gears. I'm almost certain that every post I've read about people who got gears had them installed professionally.

 

what do the shops charge for labor if I purchase parts?

 

It should take them between 3-4 hours so whatever there hourly rate is.

 

While you are in there you might as well install a T-lok. My co-worker is getting 4.10s installed in his GT here at the dealership. We get employee pricing so it's gonna be around $500 for the complete job. Parts + install. I think most outside vendors are quoting around $600 to $700.
