Question Upgrade to GT Sway Bars on the 2005 V6?

Hey guy's......I did not see any new threads about this subject, so I started one again.

I want to upgrade my 2005 V6 Coupe to the 2005-06 GT Front and Rear Sway Bars! (I already have the Eibach Pro-Kit installed)

Pro's Con's? Where is the best place to buy and what cost? e-bay?

What's the size difference? I know that I do not have a rear one, so it has to be an improvment.

Thoughts anyone?

Contact Paulboy... he was saying he can get front and rear GT Sways for $129, including shipping... best price I've seen. Though, you have to get the bolts for the rears seperately (I haven't seen sway bars sold with bolts for some reason). You reuse your front bolts.

His number is at the top of the thread.

Message KCStang on these boards, he's an authorized forum rep and FORD seller. Hell get you the hook up on the bolts.

http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/TakeOffParts.htm --> 100 bucks front and rear sway bars.

I have a stock GT sway bar not three feet from me in my office - car had maybe 5 miles on it when it was taken off.

Anyone interested? Drop me a PM and we can make a deal.

A buddy of mine who is a Ford parts guy here in Phoenix told me it was cheaper to just pick up appropriately sized grade 8 fasteners from Home Depot. He could order the parts for me from Ford but it'll cost a lot more for the bolts.

The friend I purchased the rear sway bar from provided me with all the hardware needed to install the bar. And with FAZM's expert assistance both bars were installed and I was back at work in about an hour.

He would know.

Same here. I got a GT take-off rear sway bar for like $30 but had to pay like $300 for the front. Or vise-versa, don't remember.

LOL. The front was the 30 dollar one...the rear is the expensive one.

I would highly discourage anybody from using anything but factory bolts and nuts. They have have some unique clips and as someone on this board said "monkying around with the setup is not a good idea". I mean you wouldn't want your bolt to snap and sway bar go down and get stuck inside of a wheel, while you're cruising at say 70 MpH. Also, don't forget to torque the bolts correctly. Same reason here: you don't want them to get loose or to snap. So, pay a little more, but get quality stuff. I got my bolts, buts and brackets for about $60 shipped.

Sadly this risk is present with BOTH factory and after-market bolts and nuts. After all Ford gets their mounting hardware from the same manufacturers with similar quality control processes. The trick here is implementing an appropriate solution using good parts and a quality installation.
