Went to the dealer with my buddy yesterday, he was looking for a v6 mustang. Turns out I get a hundred dollars for refering him. Anyways he bought an 05 black v6 standard. We were talking with my salesman and he told me he had something I might want. Turns out hes got a set of factory silver mustang racing stripes. He said make him an offer. I said how about the 100 dollars for referal. Long story short there sitting in front of me at home. Checked the price online and they are 300 from ford! Needless to say yesterday was a good day. Im wondering if any of you have installed these and have any tips to make it go by smoother. Thanks guys

 

The problem with the Ford stripes is they are VERY narrow. Less than 9". Also, they are not complete stripes. They start at the front of the hood and stop at the back of the trunk lid.

Most people I've seen online wouldn't put them on for those reasons.

The only Ford stripes I've seen on an '05 are the ones that were forced to get them because the dealer had already installed them before the customer bought the car.

You can put on ANYTHING your brain can come up with. Either have a prfoesional shop put on vinyl or you can put them on yourself or you can have them painted on.

Here's a thread with almost everyone's stripes pics in it. IMO, the best look for the '05, if you want the two bold stripes like the Ford ones, is 10.5" with a 1.5" gap.
