Well here it is the first V6 {THE COFFIN MUFFLER} Mustang Prototype Kit! I have taken enough pictures so you can see the fit and appearance of this install. I am very Happy with the results. This is one of our Dealership stock units that goes back on the lot tommorrow after a short stay at the home of THE COFFIN MUFFLER.
I can't wait for the reaction of the sales staff when they hear the difference of this vs the stock muffler! I was hoping for a better sound but had no idea what it would be having been a V8 Guy all of my life. I wish I had some sound bytes but how accurate are those really! Anyway I will give my opinion on the Stock Car vs the Coffin equipped car. It is a half hour drive from work to the Shop and it was the first time I had really driven a V6 car in a couple of months. I forgot the v6 cars were so responsive but since I was taking the car for an exhaust system I paid particular attention to the sound of the car. It definitely needed more sound to go with the power the car had! Something I also experienced in my GT when my prototypes came off for finalization. Once you hear a good system it is hard to go back! My New Stainless System is going on tommorrow! WHOO HOO! Anyway back to the V6. I got to the shop at 3:30 and picked up the car for a test drive to my house to get my digital camera. The first thing I noticed was the IDLE had an almost v8 sound to it! I repeat at IDLE only. On the drive I played with the throttle to find any resonance which most non stock mufflers have. It is at about 1500 to 1800 rpm so highway speeds are not going to drone you to death. Good News. The cruising sound is authoritative yet not overpowering but you know good sounds are coming out the back. Now for the real surprise! Kick that stinker to the floor and hang on! The sound of this muffler at full throttle is WILD! It sounds like a 70's Kawasaki 900 with a Kerker Header for those of you old enough to remember those. For those not I would describe its sound like a rice rocket on steroids! It truely has a sound that would make a rice rocket driver die of jealosy!
And isn't terrorizing rice rockets what the V6 Mustangs Calling is.04/19/05 I have since been told my verbal description was way off!!!!!!!!! Listen to the clips and judge for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy

Now why did you have to put it on a white mustang? man that looks good. My word I think later down the road I might have to do that.
Not sure about the sound though, have to hear it first.

The Sound is to die for and it will bury your Competition! It feels like it dug up some Horsepower too!

Man you lost me when you said it sounds like a 70's Kawasaki 900 and when you said rice rocket on steroids. To me this muffler sounds like a fart can that all those ricers have. No way would I put this on my Mustang to make it sound like a ricer. I would want my exhaust to sound as deep and throaty as possible more like a V8. In my opinion the stock exhaust sounds more like a V8. Anyone agree?

I got a Digital Recorder and as soon as I figure how and if I can get the sounds online I will. A description is an opinion! The Sounds you will either Like or Dislike! I think you will like!

Hi guys

I've been lurking for quite some time and figured I'd pop in and say hello... I'm the resident geek who helped Kevin C. get those pics and sounds up of the new Coffin Muffler by Newberry.

Kev is sending out a pre-production muffler for me to test on my '05 redfire V6 'Stang ("The Defiant"), and I will of course be posting a brief review and will likely add some more pictures, sound and possibly even some video of this cool new bolt on in action.

BTW, anyone who ever needs Ford parts should go directly through Kevin and save themselves a big headache in advance. He's a fountain of car knowledge and a really nice guy to boot! I know I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but it should be said nonetheless!
