2000 Saleen, bad engine
Newbie to this forum, but have mustangs before.
I just purchased a 2000 Saleen S291 coupe with a bad engine.
Do I replace it with same?
Is there an ease swap out to up grade the engine?
Thoughts ? Ideas?

The S281 had the stock 4.6L 2-valve engine, with a Roots-type Saleen supercharger, Saleen's cast-aluminum intake manifold, and high-flow (24 pounds per hour) fuel injectors--all managed by custom fuel-delivery calibrations. It also had a Saleen air filter. Presumably you could move all that onto a donor 2-valve block, but you would need that Saleen computer calibration for the fuel delivery, or it will probably just be a mess.
I can't find anything about a Saleen S291. Unless it was a variant with a different supercharger mounted up top.
You could just swap in a normally aspirated 4.6L 3-valve engine from the 2005-11 Mustangs. But then you are looking at a complete CPU swap, and the electrics probably will not play well together. That could become a nightmare fairly quick.
