Rear Gears

My local shop is swapping my stock 3:15 gears for 3:55 gears. After 2 tries it breaks shims as soon as they put it in gear. Has anyone had this problem and solved it ? BTW it's a 2012 GT premium

Gear swaps are very common in these cars. They are doing something wrong if they are breaking shims. I'd seriously consider another shop.

It may be breaking when they install it. A tool such as this may help. https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...6077/overview/

I just made a homemade version when I did my gear change.
