TRX tires...

What is the deal with these TRX tires? If you have read any post of mine you know that I am not a car guy. Why are they so expensive? When I was thinking about keeping the car I priced the tires. I passed out after checking around...

They are metric tires . . . for metric wheels, thus very expensive, and only produced by Coker Tires now I believe.

Late Model Restoration recently came of with true 16" replicas . . .

I had a '79 Cobra with the TRX package, took her to Germany and sold it there in '82. The replacement tires from Goodyear, Wingfoot, at the time, did not Last at all. If you plan to keep the car, replace the wheels and tires with the US wheels that came on the other models. Tire Rack can most likely help with the wheel choice. Store the TRX package wheels for later resale with the car.

If someone wants to restore a FOX body I have a set of those wheels with tires (but tires are old now) They were nice for controlled grip, you knew when they started to slip.
I heard they are/were used for ice racing too.
I wouldn't ask that price for mine (wow)
