Weird AC issue

So I've noticed lately that one side of the car is much cooler than the other. If I stick my hand over the AC vents the Air coming out is MUCH cooler on the passenger side than on the drivers side. Has the base controls, so no dual zone climate control....What gives?

Ugh I hope you don't have what I did...but the symptoms are identical. Bad evaporator core, which is a $2,000 job at the dealer. $600 part plus 10 hours labor. Dealer diagnosed it by putting green leak detector dye in the A/C system which showed up quickly on my garage floor from the leak.

Sounds like a blender issue. The air blowing out of the vents on max should be around 20 degrees.

While I'd lean towards a blend door issue, someone on this forum had a similar issue recently and it was just low on refrigerant.

Of course if it is "just low", the question is why. Is there a leak? And if so, is it simply a line, schrader valve, or the expensive evaporator.

Thanks, I'll have to check the temps. All the vents on the Passenger side feel ice cold like they should. The one son the drivers side take longer to get cool and don't get nearly as cold.

Fords are well know for the door blend actuator going bad. Do you hear a few clicking sounds when you first start the motor? I just replaced my Mom's 2010 Taurus's with just 7,200 miles on it

I actually had the actuator problem a few months ago and got that taken care of. I was getting the clicking and it would lock up trying to open certain vents. So that issue has been resolved. This is definitely something else.

Yeah, I am leaning towards a leaking issue as I already had the blend door issue taken care of. I will probably grab the charging kit from autozone and see how that goes.
