2007 gt actuator issues again...

So recently I've had problems with an actautor breaking and I kept getting it replaced from Best One service. Today I finally took it to a Ford dealer and the guy said that it could possibly be something in the hvac and that to know for sure they would have to take the dash out and take the hvac apart. That sounds like a load of bs.

Just for yer info, all the actuators are 'easily' accessible without dash removal.

Air Inlet Actuator.

Defrost door actuator.

Panel/Floor door actuator.

Temperature blend door actuator.

However, the truth is that if there's a *binding* that's causing the problem, yes, they'll have to take out the dash to get inside the thing to see what's binding up and causing the actuators to break.

Which actuator is it?

It's the defrost one. The one on the passenger side way at the top. I was told a while ago that they could've just been using cheap ones that break easily. The guy at the Ford dealership yesterday ended up saying that the one that was in there was installed improperly so he fixed it. So far it's holding up.

Easily!? lol I tried replacing the one under the steering wheel a couple years ago. After hours of laying on my back trying to get the top screw out I gave up. It just unscrewed into the air tube feeding the left vent. I finally just broke the tab of the old one off. Now that I have a second car and could tear into the dash and not have to have it back together to get to work I started taking the dash apart. I still can't get access to that top screw and can't figure out how to get the top dash pad cover off to be able to get to that top screw.
