Ok where can I get a boot retainer for a shift ball?!?! It's out of stock..

Tried CJ pony parts - Out of stock in all colors. Originally told me early march that it would be in March 28th. That got pushed back to April 15 possibly.

So I ordered from American Muscle - Out of stock in the only color they have.. two more weeks estimated eta.

I've had this shift ball since early march and can't use it. Where else can I get a boot retainer?! Getting frustrating..

Thanks!

Is it an OEM part? Maybe the dealership has one?

No. It's this piece:

That goes under the shift ball to the boot.

I actually ended up buying the Barton ball and adaptor for my stock shifter because I wanted both a cue ball style shifter and a chrome shaft.

Another one you could have gone with is the Steeda Cue Ball with the Billet Collar.

I could have, but smooth, polished, and set into the boot was more my style.

I've always been a fan of the classic Cue Ball shifter too. Although, sometimes in the summer when you're trying to slam gears, it gets slippery lol.

Looks great regardless!

better than freezing your hand off or burning it off with the ball that's in the 401A cars. Eventually I'll get around to changing that.

Not sure of your year, but check with the major Mustang after market vendors like American Muscle, CJ Pony Parts, Late Model Restoration, StangMods.com, Summit Racing or Jegs. I know there are a whole lot more choices but can't think of them know. Google is your friend.
