Canadian gt owners fog lights

So, the fogs on the CDN gt are in te lower facia like the v6 model. I just noticed today that my fogs stay on all the time when I'm driving. Anyone else notice this? I've tried every light combo and when the car is in reverse, or drive they come on.

Canadian Mustangs use the fogs as DRL's. Another brilliant idea mandated by your government.

Because of the HID setup.

You'll notice even on the Audi's that the 'light stripe' is enough to be considered a daytime running light. Too bad the Mustang wasn't the same.

Thank you very much Transport Canada.

I have already been asked by my wife , and someone at the coffee shop...why do I have my fogs on...the weather is nice....that's when I checked to see how to take them off....I figured it may have been for the DLR , but wasn't sure. Looks very silly with the sunny weather.

Friend if mine has a 2012 xf jag, and the light stripe is like the Audi, and that is enough as well.

Not on the site/list yet.
Would be interesting to see if it does, and if so..whats required to have it pass law.

On the Canadian 2012 GT the DRL are also the fogs btw, looks dumb having 2 halogen in the center as opposed to 2 great HID on the sides

I find it odd that the fogs run full time...it's so low....can't see how the fogs actually help at all.

My 2010 Shelby uses the fogs as DRL. The 2009 Lincoln MKS I had used the fogs for DRL as well. This is hardly a new thing. I personally like it.

I think DRL are more for other drivers, and not really to help you see anything. But I think DRL are stupid either way, so...

Yes, they are for other drivers asking me why my fogs are on when it's sunny and warm here this weekend

I guess you never really notice these little things until you own them and start to pay attention.

I don't like mine on all the time. How can I shut them off?

If your car was manufactured in Canada and is registered there, it is illegal to have them turned off. Therefore any dealer you take your car to in Canada will NOT tamper with nor re-program the factory modules in order to have them shut off. Also, if you plan on taking your car to a dealer in the U.S and expect them to do it for you? you can pretty much forget about that as well, for as long as your car is registered in Canada, they won't do it either. Unfortunately sad, but true!

Edit: Intended to say only registered in Canada, not manufactured!

Okay, this one is on me, as I unintentionally used the wrong choice of wording in the previous post by saying the word manufactured as I just meant to say registered in Canada. So when I answered the person's question about how to go about keeping his fogs shut off, I clearly explained that a dealer will not mess around with modifying nor re-programming any of the factory modules in order to disable the fog lamps, as doing so would be illegal. So yes, I know that all Mustangs are built at Ford's Flat Rock plant in Michigan and therefore stand corrected.

Unfortunately, if the person who goes by 2012 Mustang wants to find out how to go about keeping he or she's fog lights turned off? They'll either need to figure out for themselves how to re-program/modify the modules or know somebody else that knows how to do it for them

I also went ahead and edited the previous post by making corrections!
