Here in BC if you hit the tree and or branch you would be covered under collision. If the tree and or branch hits you (such as falling) potentially no coverage. If the tree or branch comes from your neighbours yard it is possible to be covered by your neighbours house insurance. If the tree and or branch comes from public land then well, good luck.

LAte night, driving while angry in unfamiliar territory. Took a turn too fast. I had two options, slam the steering wheel to the right and oversteer (risk falling into the endless pit of doom) or just slam on my brakes and stop. I chose option 2. Little did I know there was also option 3: Not have enough room to stop and plow into a mountain.
The mountain did the majority of the body damage. You can see the drivers side of the front end looks more punched in. The real damage though came from that ditch you see. In this area, roads are pretty cheap. Its just a bunch of pavem, ent, which is 2-3" higher than the dirt underneath, and less than a foot past the end of the pavement is a ditch. The ditch is what ruined my front right suspension. The whole wheel and suspension of that side of the car was pushed in. That hit an airbag sensor, which made the car think the WHOLE front end was crushed, and thats why the airbags deployed. Messed up the radiator support and the general geometry of that section. It still makes a funny noise from that corner at ~45mph, but no adverse effects. My shop did a wonderful job of making her better again About 6K in damage, and tahts after the mechanics found better priced parts to work with. *sigh*

Good things can come from the bad I guess.

Very close friend's 07 Redfire GT Convert. 3 months new, and modded. Rain slicked highway, car in front lost control, he swerved and met the Jersey barrier in the center. Saved his life. And yes, he is replacing it with another GT Vert.
