I found this in the yard this afternoon. I've never seen one before, except for pictures.

i`ve never seen a live one before .. they all look like this to me ...

The lid is reinforced with a steel ring and it has a double latch system to keep it closed. In theory it's supposed to keep bears out.

This turtle fell into a basement window well, lucky I found him and set him free !
This mantis rode out a heavy rain storm on my daughters Taurus !
