I Had to Replace the Pcv Line on Mine and That is One Way And the Other is Taking The Blower Off. I Did That Repair During One of My Worst Health Periods and What a Pain! I Used Upgraded Hose on the One Line To the Back of The Intake So I Would Not Have To Do It Again! Makes Me Ache Just Thinking About it! the Intercooler Needed a Good Cleaning Anyway!
I Remember Some of The Dealership Techs & Aftermarket Shops Upselling That PCV Valve & Finding Out it Was Line Replacement and Admitting They Would Leave That One Funky Line That Failed on The Truck and Just Use The Topside Pieces. That is After They Realized What It Would Really Take To Do Correct Repair! That Was At Some of The Lesser Reputable Dealers I Worked At. Not My Beloved Clevenger! They Were Not Perfect Either But By Far The Best Group of Dealership People I Worked With!
Time flies like a Mustang! I’d be Interested of how many still have their same Mustang from then.
Still have mine. Lots of go fast stuff since, but she’s still here and faithful as ever! Just recently flipped 90k on the odo.
Still got my '05. Built in Nov. 2004. Purchased Dec. 2004.
It's a little worse for wear as it is my daily driver and it's been through 20 Illinois winters! But it's still going strong.
And it's got some bits I purchased from Kevin on it!

One Of The Great Things Back in The Day is I got to Sell Parts To The Best Mustangers on the Web!
Still lurking in the shadows! A very good friend of mine purchased my 05 GT Convertible after I had completed the Supercharger and Ford Racing suspension upgrades in 2015. (got injured at work... to many surgeries... car sat for a couple of years, sold it 06/17... right offer at the wrong time!) KC, we had quite a few GREAT conversations about our cars and modifications made, upgrades added and questionable retro-fits made to work! I think I was the first to add a power passenger seat to the 05. Took a driver side platform, cut and re-welded the leg pins and re-pinned the wire harness. Still going strong 20 years later!
Been loving Mustangs since forever, rode in my first one back in 1967 at the age of 4, bought my first in 1978 and began my love/hate affair with rebuilding, restoring and driving the heck out of them.
One of my best Mustang memories... meeting Mr. Carroll Shelby at SEMA 2006 while walking the lobby, getting the heads up on the CS6/CS8 program and being asked to stop by the Las Vegas shop. Had a fantastic tour with 5 of my friends, Mr. Shelby and some of his employees. Saw the ongoing Cobra production, his original Cobra, one of his original GT350 cars and a whole bunch of other real nice vehicles! I was able to order a few CS8 pieces to put on my car. Best quote from that tour... (Shelby to me) "Every Mustang is a blank canvas, it's up to you to make it your own!"
KC, I still have a few items purchased years ago that never made it on to the car... once the season changes to warm, I will go through the storage shed to relocate and share!
I can not believe it has been 20 years! Thanks for revivng the memories!!!
I've gone from the X-Charger package I used to run to a BrenSpeed Phase 2 package putting out a bunch of horsepower and torque. I still have my little white pony. When I saw the Steve McQueen cornfield commercial, that was it. I was hooked. I had to have a 2005 model, the first year for the S197. (I made sure I found myself one of the pony keychains too. 👍 )
Here is part of what George at BrenSpeed sent me after the 'magic' had been applied (I told him I wanted a conservative tune).
"Attached you will find the Dyno Graph. Your vehicle made 481 rwhp which is 601 Flywheel HP!!!! Your Torque is very impressive at 478 rwtrq!!!!"
In summer of 2005, Pittsburgh had their annual Grand Prix. Every year they chose a car to honor and they had the Mustang. I got to bring my 05 Mustang GT to be in the parade. After the parade, Chief Engineer Thai-Tang was there telling about his story of designing the new mustang. I got him to sign my book.
That's awesome! Especially when Ford is like "Hey we need to have a word".
One of these days I'll get another S-197 since I miss my 09 GT500 (it was a turd in the corners and I could never really get it to handle like I wanted but that car was an absolute missile!) and next to the GT350s my 07 GT after the FRPP suspension swap and summer tires were the third best handling Mustang I've ever owned and oddly enough I find the S-197 cars more comfortable than the S550. I also keep thinking about a Godzilla-swapped S-197 since it offers a good compromise between the heavy-as-hell engine in the GT500 and the lightweight 4.6 3v and it makes good power and has gobs under the curve.
