TheMustangSource.com's Project T-67 Unveiled!
THE MUSTANG SOURCE'S PROJECT T-67 UNVEILED! PICS START AT POST 40 TheMustangSource.com took the wraps off Project T-67 today at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Owned by forum member John "390 4spd" Loper and built in conjunction with "SVO Paul" Becker's SVP Unlimited and TheMustangSource.com, the custom 1967 Mustang convertible is a beautiful yet menacing cruiser featuring classic Shelby styling cues blanketed in Indigo Ink Pearl with white Super Snake-style stripes, powered by a supercharged 4.6L DOHC V8 SVT Cobra "Terminator" engine tuned by BamaChips to deliver in excess of 400 horsepower and riding on a Griggs Racing Watts Link suspension. The combination of classic Mustang styling and modern technology is further evidenced by the interior, furnished by TMI Classic Automotive Interiors and featuring Auto Meter gauges. The car rolls on custom 18" BOZE Alloys wheels, behind which lies a set of 14" Baer brakes with six-piston calipers, also finished in Indigo Ink Pearl, on all four corners. The Mustang's classic exhaust note is enhanced by a custom-fabricated Magnaflow exhaust system. Click here to follow the car's build from start to finish. |

I wish I could see it in person. |

I'd like to see the interior shots when you get a chance.
Great looking ride!
Could we have some pictures of the interior please? :)
Added interior and engine photos to first post.
the interior is AWESOME! very tasteful!
Oh yeah. If I had the money, that's the way I'd do it. Very tasteful to say the least. Usually projects like these for SEMA are so over the top. This car just looks perfect to me. Still classy, but modern conveniences.
:nice:
Awesome Ride!!!! Great Job #1
John is going to send me more pics later, his camera takes a bit better photos than Pauls so hopefully they will turn out. Wish I had sent my tripod with them
I would love to see some more detailed interior pics...just gorgeous
when and where will john be bringing this car to a local cruise in?
Prob be in world of wheels if i have my guess, and then will more than likely be spring before it really starts seeing alot of cruise-ins.
Oh my god. That's gorgeous! :hail:
Sexy. :nice:
They stuffed that baby good under the hood, eh. Sweet ride! :)
That is awesome.
It looks like there was a lot of hard work. Hats off to all those involved in the project.
It looks... :hmm: ... FANTASTIQUE!!! :nice: |
Thanks Brad! :nice:
What can you guys tell me about the radiator in that beast? It looks like something I could use! :D

That is one beautiful looking mustang! A great blend of old and new, congratulations on a job well done!:nice:
Awesome ride!!! Not quite feeling the wheels but other than that, it's beautiful!!
I am mostly impressed with the key elements on the suspension and and the breaks setup. No question this car is a beauty, add performance and handling and its proud owner and meticulous builders have created a Mustang trifecta.
Great job guys! Enjoy your achievement! :nice: |
..my hat is off to the crew. Reminds me of a restomod I had done myself and know the labor of love and loss of blood/sweat you guys put into it. Every inch of that car is pure beauty.
Applause does not do you guys enough justice. |
:nice::nice:Two thumbs waaaay up. That is a beautiful car. Pretty close to my dream car.
The car is absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see it again when you guys get back. (saw it in several pieces) Anyone that thinks they did not work hard enough on this car should have been there the last two days before they left. It looked like two angry hornets buzzing around their nest. It really was pretty frantic around the clock there.
Honestly it's this eye to detail and vision for something that has never been built before that made up my mind to do something different with my car. It really is an awesome car and I can't wait to see it at a local cruise in. It sounds beautiful. |
I do believe I just ruined my pants.
Awesome job guys. That car is just to die for. |
car looks amazing guys!
Been following along 'cause I hope to do something similar with my 67 convert. Yours started out in a better place then mine, and I can't believe what it takes to do it right. You guys did it "RIGHT". It is a real inspiration. Now all I need is to win the lottery. It really came out NICE!!!
Love the car absolutely gorgeous. well done, wish you went with the 428 cobra engine though, but thats just my taste
Looking Good! It was fun being a small part of this project supplying some of the 03 Cobra Engine & Wiring Parts. Some of Which had Already Gone Obsolete BTW.
My Kid is at Sema Sporting a CLEVENGER Ford Hat and I told him To stop By Some of The Vendors I know & do Business with & say Hi for me. He is sure to Drool over this one! KC |
It's been a long journey, hasn't it? I enjoyed going back through the thread and watching this car happen again.
There's nothing obsessive-compulsive about the approach to this car. I just call it doing it right - and doing it once. |
This car wins at life
That is absolutely amazing. Easily the best SEMA car I have seen. Awesome work
:fam24:
don't even have good enough words to describe how great this car turned out. to paul and the gang.....:salute: Nuff said |
Hey John,
It was a pleasure meeting you at SEMA. The car is truly spectacular, but John is such a humble guy and really just a very deserving owner. I can honestly say I could have punched out a few spectators and it isn't my car. |
thanks jed!

Beautiful. I even like the wheels, albeit I'd prefer them a little smaller and more tucked into the fenders rather than flush.
Btw, this would only be more awesome if it had a T67 turbo instead of the M112!! |

I have a question, about that new Cobra engine. That engine is fuel injected and in the original set up would be hooked up to the on board computer. So when you put it in an old mustang like this, how do you set it up, do you keep it with a computer or with out or what? How do you set that up in this car?
Im fairly positive they are using a ECU and wireing harness from a 2003 cobra to control teh engine mechanics and all.
Thanks guys for the kind words and compliments. Jason and I only see the areas that need attention or finishing when we look at it...part of the problem being the builder. There was almost a murder before the car left when my upholstery guy hung me out to dry on the carpet and then showed up with the wrong color and fit....there is much with the interior that still needs finishing and is not as we intended so the work still goes on. The lack of a front bumper was thanks to 2 problems....first the chrome shop that supplied the bumpers sent us 2 tweaked bumpers that didn't fit....while I made arrangements to have another front bumper waiting for us in Las Vegas, the brackets were made wrong and did not sit where they needed to be on the LH side so the decision was made to leave it "R model style" and just go with it....I wasn't happy but had little choice at that point. With the upholstery guy dropping the ball I completely forgot about the ebrake boot so that was missing and still has to be made. My fault was the speakers...I gave John the wrong size when I sent him to get the pair. Jason and I ended up covering the front seats...they sat for a week at the trim shop and I went and grabbed them because nothing had been done. I hate relying on others for this very reason.
The first couple miles were put on the car in Las Vegas....I thought we could unload at the center but had to do so in a lot away from there so it was driven...the exhaust note is amazing...and it feels nothing like a vintage Mustang. I was trying to get more updates and pics to Brad but the wifi there was spotty at best.

I'd be interested in knowing about the ride quality, the handling, and its estimated weight.

Ride quality is better than one might expect...it's very firm but not jarring or uncomfortable...handling is off the hook, if you remember the movie TRON...it's something like that :D. The suspension is capable of 1.5 G's according to Griggs. As far as weight....it would be pure speculation at this point because I have not weighed the car yet. As we get further along I will take video of the car for sound and driving impressions and I also plan to weigh it. |
tron reference...hahahahah!
..if you get the Tron reference does it make you old?
"Tron" :poke:I think I have that on Beta tape,,, or maybe laser disc,,, i'll look tonight...mann i'm getting old
They're making a sequel.
