Yes indeed! This old timer remembers those AM radio triangles quite well... I also remember the old triangle speedometers as well LOL.

The purpose behind the 85MPH speedo was intended for encouraging motorists to conserve energy as a result of the American energy crisis of the mid 70s - mid 80's era... It had nothing to do with speed or safety.... Was it effective? heck no, it was nothing but a stupid gimmick from the very start.

We went from the Civil Defence stations to wanting to remove the AM radio
Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO, wrote in social media postings Tuesday, May 23, 2023 that the company is reversing a decision to scrub the AM band after speaking with government policy leaders who are concerned about keeping emergency alerts that often are sounded on AM stations.
