What gen. or specifically year is this Mustang?

Hi guys and Gals,

Am relatively new to the Mustang Muscle. And was looking at picking up an older Gen mustang. I have found a guy claiming that he has a 1979 Ford Mustang Boss 302. I have looked at his pictures and the body doesn't look like any mustang i have seen. So I can only assume it is just the engine in a shell. Hoping one of you can help me for this car could be a steal at the price he is asking.

Thank you,

Mark

It's a Mustang II ... produced from 1974 to 1978.

Thanks Dmhines, Thats what I was thinking but when I was doing some research I just couldn't find anything. Did they only do a half year production on this body style? Then rolled out the Fox bodies the same year?

And another question for you and I know the pictures are not enough to really go off of. But if you had the ability to get that car for $1000 CAD would you or would you hold off and possibly invest in something different. Right now I have a 93 mustang and really want a older gen model.

Thanks again,

I wouldn't waste my money on investing in any 74-78 and definatly not a messed up one like that.

I wouldn't mind a King Cobra or a nice Cobra II, but I agree, stay away from that one.

It's not a 1979 (it's 1974-1978 Coupe) and it's not a Boss 302 for sure.

Yeah, the Mustang IIs are at the very bottom of the Mustang desirability totem pole. I'd hold off, do my research, and look for a better investment.

It would make a cool project though. I would give him $500 for it. Would love to build a street rod out of one.
