Well, I just added another II to the herd. An all original, non-restored 1978 King Cobra with T-tops. It has 39,000 documented miles. I will take better photos when it gets here, but here are some from the seller I thought I would share for now.

Looks fantastic! :nice:

And that is one of my favorite Mustang steering wheels as well!

Thanks for posting these. Congrats on your buy. A sharp car from the dark ages of the automobile.

Zastava_101 9/17/13 04:08 PM

Beautiful. Congrats.

future9er24 9/17/13 04:26 PM

AWESOME :nice:

Less miles than my 01  And with the T-tops 4speed you have managed to purchase my dream II configuration.

Planning on leaving it stock? or can I peer pressure you into mods :jester:

That's amazingly low mileage, 30,000 you said?!?

Well done good sir!

Congratulations. I'm one of the few who always liked the Mustang II and would love to pick up a King Cobra or a Cobra model

No mods for this one. Except a center console, when I find the perfect one. But I still have the Cobra II which is completely modded...under the hood. So one stock and one with a little more!

Same here, I'd leave her stock, :nice:

Console

I just found an original chrome trimmed console on Craigslist for $150.00 It arrived today, and looks super! I polished the chrome moulding and installed it.

What do you think?

future9er24 9/30/13 06:45 PM

Looks great!

bill0754 9/30/13 07:21 PM

Thanks! These sure are tough cars to get parts for! I was lucky to find a console

future9er24 9/30/13 07:30 PM

Tell me about it lol. My best bets are mustangii.net, ebay and occasionally craigslist.

I'd say the luckiest part is the condition yours is in. The console in my car wasn't even that nice when I got it, despite the rest of the interior being flawless.

Looking good nice job!!!

Sometimes Craigslist can surprise you. I just wish you could do a search on all of the states instead of one at a time. This car was a lucky find as everything works and it only has 39,180 actual miles. Even the paint is original!

I posted this in another thread, and while it doesn't do every state, it does by region (rather than city): http://www.rideslist.com/

A mustang owner actually put it together. It has hiccups occasionally, but it looks across craigslist ads by area and compiles a list broken down by make, model and year. It was pretty useful in my research leading up to buying my car.

Oh yeah, you will probably have to switch your location...

bill0754 9/30/13 08:52 PM
