Here's some of the stangs we've looked at:
V6 Coupe. It had a ton of miles, and I could tell the dealer really wanted to get rid of it.
V6 Coupe. Air bags were gone, and it was kinda beat up. The dealer was this little old guy, who acted kinda weird.
GT Vert. Same dealer as one above. I think it had previously been in an accident, and then repaired. The airbags were gone, and there was tons of glue all over the covers. The old guy said it had been his daughters.
This was the last one we looked at. We drove a long ways just to see it, and it wouldn't even start. Plus there were tons of cigarette butts in the console.
We also looked at a couple SHOs, and a T-bird. They all had some weird problems, and one of them is still for sale.

I'd take an SHO, or a V8 T-bird, but I really want another mustang. Most of the SHOs I find are really beat up, and/or have tons of miles.

might also want to look into the Lincoln Mark VII LSCs. They got plenty of 5.0 goodness too. Or also, a Tbird TurboCoupe
also, i enver really asked, but what spawned the search for a new car as opposed to building up the notch?

are you into the earlier manual; V6 SHOs or are you also considering one of the later, autop V8 ones?

we paid almost that much for the Bullitt 2 years ago... sigh

I need something that I can drive in the winter/rain/etc. and not kill myself over trying to keep it clean. Plus two mustangs is better than one.

I wouldn't have to. It would do it all by itself.

The price on this mustang keeps going up and down. One day it's 4k, then 2.5k, then 4k, then 1.6k.

Both actually. I think I'd prefer one of the 2nd gens though. I've considered the other two, but I don't think anyone in my family would let me buy the lincoln, and I'm saving the 2.3t for the notch.

Lemme know how that torque does in the snow
But yes, II is always better than I though, as a winter beater I'd probably be a little more interested in the SHOs. the FWD will help with the traction. Just wanted to give a little warning, because even in sunshiny California, I have trouble with the II/Bullitt in the rain because of the torque. It is SO easy to get sideways its ridiculous. I was driving along in 3rd gear the other day, after it had rained, between 30-40ish and i was jsut easing the throttle like I always do, and I lost traction
that being said, best of luck finding yourself a sweet DD
