Tackling the 'Rattler' & Twisties in NC
 

A nice day trip the other day through the heart of the Appalachians in western NC. This area is mainly north of Asheville and passes through the small towns of Hot Springs and Marshall. Enjoy the photos.

I have looked at that road on the map in our travels home from Georgia .... just never took it before. I almost always make the trip home about twice as long as the trip down ....

This route will make it 3 times as long but what a pleasant ride it is. I have a feeling you might like these photos right in downtown Marshall. Time actually standing still. Click on the first photo a few times to enlarge and look to the left of the Star Diner. See the AMC sign on the side? I felt like I could go inside that building and look at Javelins or Gremlins!

Oh yeah ..... love the new pics!

Just gonna have to come spend a half week down there in the Fall then, already the wife wants to do some antiquing down below there near Franklin and Dillard .... Fantastic looking place!

Well I hope you give me a shout while here in Franklin. Come visit the house and sit on the deck a bit and look at the mountains. We are just 10 minutes from the Whistle Stop antique mall. I'm sure you have seen it on the 'Georgia Road'.
