We've been here so many times along with the Tail of the Dragon but it never gets old. It sure seemed like a nice day, and it was, but the 5000' elevations have different ideas sometimes. A few photos:

Thanks for the photos. Yes, it's always a nice day. The Skyway is getting a bit overgrown though compared to years past. Some of the overlooks are not offering views any more. It's still nice but they need to bring in the right equipment to bring the views back to the way it was. The Blue Ridge Pkwy went through this same thing a few years ago. Some of our favorite pullouts were blocked by the ever growing trees. They finally got around to clearing everything out. It's really nice again!

Thanks .... love the pics guys!

Wife and I have done the same roads many times, 2, 3, and 4 wheels .... and are glad to hear they are clearing some of the view blocking foliage. The BRP up here needs some work and the Skyline Drive really could use some clear cutting around overlooks that don't anymore.

But we never tire of them ... or the Cherohala and roads around the Smokies.

:)

You definitely should. Weather is always the key though. If interested, this link shows some GT photos during one of our day trips there last summer. https://themustangsource.com/f637/07...e-pkwy-523898/

And Supersnake .... just to add ..... always take a good camera and a jacket of some sort and a full tank to start.
