Saving Active Exhaust Mode
HELLO, MY FATHER CURRENTLY HAS A 2018 MUSTANG GT. We both have a question about the active exhaust system installed on his premium mustang. So he likes to hear the exhaust and i cant blame him for wanting to hear the V8 roar. So is there no way you can save the setting to track mode and it will stay there. what i mean is when you get in the car and start it up, you always have to change the exhaust setting to make it loud. Isn't there no way you can save the setting, so you will not have to change this every time you get in the car. I think Ford should have made this a savable setting. Is there anybody else that is also annoyed by this. Thanks

The easy trick is to simply disable the actuators and fix the valves to always open. That's all track mode is. The harder trick is to do so without sacrificing the valve tech on the car for future sales. Other option: Remove active exhaust mufflers and tips and install aftermarket ones. As to the not saveable: Probably a legal issue regarding many communities and their noise laws, so best to make it 'you gotta want it and you take yer chances with the cops.' Watching the Goonzquad and their Mustang with its changeable exhaust tips, and how they worry about this very thing (skip to 22 minutes or so.) |
I believe it is possible to set your exhaust using "MyMode". Here is what I found in the owners manual.
"Using MyMode (If Equipped) You can use MyMode to create a unique drive mode. To create or save MyMode, press the Mustang button on the steering wheel and access the menu. See General Information (page 88). The available systems display. Select your desired settings using the appropriate buttons and menus. Press and hold OK to save your settings. MyMode is added to the drive mode list and can be selected the next time you drive your vehicle. Yes, I have an owners manual before I even have my car and yes I've been reading it to set up everything the way I want right from the dealership parking lot. |
My mode
Even with the my mode you still have to switch it on every-time you drive it’s annoying
