Old-Style Performance Mod

Is there any advantage on running a colder thermostat on the newest generation of Mustang GT's? In the past, the practice was to install a 160 degree thermostat to keep the car within a cooler operating temperature which also added some additional fuel added to the mix, both of which kept the knock sensors from pulling timing out of the car due to pre-ignition.

you cant just throw it in and call it a day, your vehicle needs to be tuned to take advantage of the lower operating temps

Run 170* t-stats in both cars.
In order to get the max benefit, per the mfg., the Hi/low fan settings need to be reset in the tune.
..................( they supply the settings )

the Racerboy reply is yes. You can potentially make more power with a cooler engine. The DD reply don't waste your time and money.
