Michelin Pilot Sports installed

Unhappy with the Pirellis that came on the GT, I went with the Michelin Pilot Sports to see what would happen.

Tire rack currently has them for $208 each (there is also a Michelin rebate until April 18th):

Even at 45 degrees, the tires hook up with almost no spin on a relatively hard launch. This is in contrast to the Pirellis that would spin so easily. :chirp:

I'm sure when the weather warms up here, like to 75 degrees, they will be even more impressive.

Michelin's > Pirellis ANYDAY! :yup:

Anything over Pirellis for that matter lol. But most definitely Michelin PSS followed by Continental Extreme Contact Sport, Cooper Zeon (RS3-S) and BFG G-Force Sport Comp 2 are my top choices.

I liked my Pirellis for the first 7000 miles. Then they got hard and not so sticky at all. Plus wet traction was never their strong suite. I would also add Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position to the list of tires way better than Pirelli.

:agree: The Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position is also a good choice as well, Marty :nice:

Hey Rocky, sounds like we just names 5 tires all better than Pirelli and that's just off the top of our heads :rofl2:

I forgot to mention that I only changed the rears when I first posted. Well, I replaced the fronts today, and the car now handles so much better.

NO MORE TRAMLINING!!!

For the past 3 years I've hated the way my car handles, and complained every time I drove it. I took it out two times today, "just for fun," because it handles so nicely now. I would never have imagined a different brand tire could make such a HUGE difference!

Thanks for all the replies and thoughts on good tire options.

Tires make a huge difference. Enjoy the new found performance.

P.S. wait till you drive your car after suspension changes :D
