Looking for insight on 2015 GT Automatic

I have a 2014 V6 that I do love, but I am contemplating on upgrading in the Spring to a GT. I got my V6 new with such a great deal that the trade in is actually what I paid for the car, so that's good. I test drove the GT last week and did love the power. The salesman that I bought my last Mustang from (is now the sales manager) says that he could get me what I want for 31-32k, which is about 2k off sticker. The deal will still be there in the Spring, that's why I'm in no rush. I'm just curious how people are liking their automatic after some time of ownership. Thanks everyone!

Love mine Tony. Really wanted a manual, but three scopes on the left knee scratched that. I drove a friends '14 with a stick to see. Loved that, but the knee didn't. So went with the auto. Shifts great, really fun in sport or track mode. Just hit 1000 miles since March. Not my DD, but drive her when I can. Get 14-15 around town, and 25 on the Hwy when I'm not standing on her. Recent mods have let her breath and growl a tad more too.

I ordered my 2015 Auto with the 3.55 gears and 20" wheel/tire package since my wife doesn't/can't drive a stick. Since the auto will not be available with the PP, I added Steeda F/R adjustable sway bars, Ford Racing strut tower brace, K & N filter, and Ford Racing black Touring catback. Best of all worlds. I get about 15 in town, but 23 on the highway at 75 with the A/C. Best of wishes.

I have the 3.55 gears and love my auto. I have Flowmaster outlaws and when in sport mode the rev matching and very aggressive shifting will put a smile on your face.
It comes out of the hole great too.
I wonder if all the manual owners drove an auto 1st. If they did, they might have changed their minds.

Thanks everyone! Beautiful cars....I have until Spring, but I am definitively leaning towards a 15/16. Maybe I'll get lucky enough to find a sweet leftover '15 like I did with my '14.

I only have about 1900 miles on my '14, but do plan on driving her more. Sorry about the knees!

The six-speed Auto in the 2011-2014 GTs had 3:15 rears. I get 25-28 MPG on the highway. Yet several posts above state 3:55 for 2015. Was it changed for 2015?

3:55 is an option for '15 - I'm guessing most people get that option, it's only $395 I think.

Yes, it's an option. I got the 3.55 Ltd Slip for mine and it was $395.

My '09 GT is a manual, and I love it. However, after test driving the 2015 in a manual, I decided that I wanted an automatic. I have no regrets with that decision. I kept my '09, so if I want to drive a manual, I still can. :-)

HINT: Join the Mustang Club of America = $50.00 per year AND then get X-pricing at the dealership. That combination got me more than $2000 off the sticker price, and then talked to the sales manager again. I'll bet you could get a GT Premium with 3.55 gears, 401A interior w/shaker Audio, and all the other comfort stuff for less than the list /starting price (without above listed options) for less than $36,100...I did!

Nice job Music man! There's also truecar. I put a call into them, and the price I got from a few dealerships was about 3000-3500 off sticker. I can't wait until Spring!!

Looking for insight on 2015 GT Automatic

I have a 2015 GT with Auto transmission. You will get crap from all the purist folks saying a mustang needs a manual, but it wasn't an option for me since I am in bad traffic daily. The various driving modes and an awesome auto transmission is a joy on the GT. I love it and find it very responsive and would not change to a manual. You will love it. AT have come a very long way

I totally agree with the above comments. I was a manual guy all day and one of "those guys". My wife bought me a Triple yellow GT for my bday this weekend and got the auto with 3:55 so she could drive it if needed. When the car is in track mode and shifted into sport it is truly FUN to drive. I am very impressed with the auto!

I'm totally new to this whole exhaust thing. I see that you went with the Roush axle-backs, with x-pipe. I have been considering the Roush axle-back as well, but have no idea what the x-pipe is for? Could you please enlighten me? I have the GT (no PP). Thanks! P.S. I'm also considering the Borla Touring or S Type.

So I did end up upgrading to the 2015 GT! I've had it almost a month now and I absolutely love it!! It is like night and day from my 2014 V6. I was a little worried about the gas mileage, but I am actually getting better gas mileage with my GT. I only had 2K miles on my V6 and I averaged 23-24 mpgs, but my 15 GT is averaging 25! The interior is fantastic and my base GT seats are very comfortable.
I do have one complaint though....the exhaust sound. The engine sounds magnificent at idle, but the exhaust needs more rumble for sure. I've looked at so many videos, but still unsure. I think I'm going to put a few more miles on her (at 1250 now), and then maybe in the Spring I'll change it out.

The x pipe gives a more raspier sound. The stock resonator is so huge and restricts the sound quite a bit (so I'm told). I've been watching many videos on the MRT h pipe and it sounded da really nice. I am leaning towards that way, but I aw waiting till Spring.

Thank you for the explanation. After all of the videos that I have watched, I'm leaning towards the Roush AB exhaust. And, the price is right for me! Glad that you're enjoying your new stang! I have had mine since the end of June, and I love it too!
