Best highway mileage

Even tho we didnt buy our mustang's for the mpg's what has your best highway MPG's been. Thanks for the replies.

I recalled 107mpg reading one time coasting downhill after a fill up and then promptly hitting 15 by the time I got home! :heh:
My best was 23.5mpg highway with no track key, no wingy things bothering me and all in 6th gear. :yup:

I have an 1800 mile trip coming up and was wondering what kind of budget I will need for fuel. I was hoping for around 24 or 25 mpg. We shall see.

I hope the Mustang I get has at least as good as the 2019 XLT Ranger ecoboost I just bought. First trip I averaged 25.5 mpg

Best I got was when the car was nearly new. No Trackey, No Boss exhaust, No GT500 rotors. If I remember right running 89 octane ethanol fuel. 23.5 mpg on an 800 mile road trip. Now most of the time hang around 14.5mpg, but sometimes when I am lucky if I get close to 15mpg. Always running 91 octane non-ethanol. Though I run the Trackey nearly all the time, too. Sure glad I was not expecting to keep that 20+ mpg's.

Best I got was 26 mpg on my 2013 GT when it had about 2100 miles on it.

Glenn Oct 2, 2019 07:57 AM

My average is 19 or so. Some city and some highway.

Newest car, 2018 GT PP1, has averaged 19 or so. Was getting 25.9 on a long light-throttle episode, before a couple of triple-digit runs.

A few years back on a trip up California and back down; 2013 GT manual trans, Brembo option. Trip A is the back downhill (from Tahoe), Trip B is the whole circle. Pretty good at five-over or so, for the most part.

My '17 I get about 17mpg on a 50 minute stop and go commute to work. Average about 30 MPH.

My '06 I would normally get 35-36 mpg on the interstate. 3.9 mpg doing a single autocross run.

OR you could say **** it and grin for 30 minutes straight while doing this and achieving a solid 5 MPG :D

I get 26.4 mpg at 80 mph on I-10 between Mobile Al. and New Orleans.

Had a good run back from Scotland in mine. Impressed with these figures.

Stuck to the speed limit the whole trip.

GT Mileage 2021 GT 10 Speed

Just took a 500 mile trip which was about 90% highway driving. For the first half of the trip I managed 26 MPG using a light touch on the pedal and limited my speed to 5 MPH over the limit. The second half I employed my normal habits of going a bit faster and getting into the throttle more often, got about 23 MPG on this half of the trip. If I want an accurate MPG I have to compute it manually as my trip computer overestimates the MPG by about 1.5 MPG. On this trip the computer showed 27.5 & 25.5 MPG instead of the actual figures listed above. I have maned 28 MPG by lowering my speed a bit more and coasting on long downhills just to see what the best MPG I could achieve. Anyway I will stick with my normal driving habits as they are much more fun.

Yep it's the smiles not the miles! :yup:

25.7 ...at that time I only had a C&L Sport Axle back and a Roush CAI(Insert NOT removed) with stock tune. I have ran on the high way since getting a x pipe and a Bama 93 tune but my City mileage has not moved at all. which is 14.6

I bought my 2020 Premium convertible automatic used in Houston last September with just 8,360 miles on her. I stopped in Conroe and topped off the tank and drove at the speed limit on interstates to get her home to Frisco, TX. I avoided fast acceleration and so forth and got home having averaged just over 30 MPG. Around town here I get about 19.

^^^ That's outstanding!
On our 3,300+ miles trip to New England last year,. the car's computer showed us getting 25.0 mpg, and my wife's final calculations with receipts, etc came out to 24.1 mpg. I'm in awe at that mileage with a 400+ HP engine and A6 tranny. Zero complaints here.
