2017 Body Flaws Need To Get Fixed

We have new 2017 GT and even when we first got it home it looked a little funny near the bumpers...but over the last few months it's gotten worse. I called the nearest Ford dealer and spoke to someone in the body shop and they told us "it was a known problem." They told us to call service first however, and then they would pass it on to the body shop.

We called service and they didn't sound too welcoming....it was like "Well we have to make sure it's really a warranty issue." Uh, what else would it be? It hasn't been hit. Hopefully we don't get an attitude when we go in!

Completely misaligned!

Wow that's completely unacceptable for a car made in this century!

Mustang Freak 7/19/17 05:45 PM

I'd be furious that is totally unacceptable! Hopefully your dealership will make it right! :shame:

Have an appointment Friday will let you know what happens.

It got worse over the months (we got the car in FEB), so the more we drove I guess the more it separated. I have done some searches online and it seems like this has been going on since 2015. Yes paying too much a month to drive a broken looking car!

Ehh, I think that's an overstatement

Forum membership is not a good representative of how most cars are holding up. Most people seek out an automotive forum for one of two reasons:

1) They want to modify their car and are seeking advice and ideas
2) They have experienced some problem and are looking for a solution

What you don't have (for the most part) are just average owners who view their car as an appliance.

If I were considering buying a car and sought out forums for problem points, I'd never buy a car. I'd conclude that all cars suck and are poorly built. Even the paint issue on Mustang hoods, as bad as it is, is not nearly as widespread as a forum makes it sound. If it were, we'd see paint flaked off of Mustang hoods everywhere.

Yup, what do your eyes tell you in the real world? Not very common

too much 'technology' that they change or replace before they get the bugs out of what they already have.

It's competition.

Finally getting this fixed next week.

They said it's a two day job.

They also said they see a lot of trunk lids misaligned.

Arrgh! At least it's warranty.

All Fixed!

Took them a day and half, but they provided rides to and from the dealership. Said they had seen a lot of this, especially around the back near the trunk....

Alls well that ends well I guess!

BTW none of those are scratches on the front, just weird light reflections! ;)
