Mods I hope you'll tolerate this SLIGHTLY off topic post.
Well, I had a 2014 GT and always thought my next Mustang would be a new Shelby. My back didn't agree. Long story short, I had surgery and it was a bit uncomfy to get in and out of the Mustang. So, for now, at least, I'm driving a 2.3l EcoBoost Lincoln MKC. I had a couple of turbo SAABs so I'm really loving the 2.3l!
Anyway, I've only had it for a few weeks and threw a P0012 CEL. I read it, ran a "vehicle health report," then cleared it to see if it came back. After two days, it hasn't. Anyone had this code on their Mustang?
The generic definition for it is: P0012 OBD-II Trouble Code Camshaft Position A Timing Over-Retarded Bank 1
I read all sorts of possible causes from variable valve timing solenoid stuck open due to grit or timing chain follower debris to bad gas. I also saw where the 2015 or 16 Explorer had a recall or TSB to reflash the PCM to get rid of this or something like that. It also said this code should be accompanied by stalling, stumbling, or rough idle. My car runs as smooth as the day I bought it...3 weeks ago...lol.
Anyway, no one in the Lincoln forum even responded so I figured there were probably a FEW more folks in here with the same engine. Yes, I realize it's not exactly the same but close enough...

I have had my EB for almost a year with no codes thrown. Here is the link for the Echo boost Mustang forum, perhaps someone on there has had this issue. Hope this helps.
