Here’s a bit of news that’ll probably catch a few people off guard. Yep, it appears that the days of the V6 Mustang are numbered.
Crazy, huh?
Though that may be sad to hear for some folks, if it’s any consolation, it looks like there is some good news too: the Mustang will reportedly get Magnetic Ride and a 10-speed auto for 2018, as highlighted by Road & Track. The news comes as we learn more about the new updates being planned for the Ford pony car, apparently pulled from dealership order guides.
In addition to the 10-speed transmission and MagneRide, a performance suspension feature currently only available on the Shelby GT350, the Mustang is also expected to get an option known as “Performance Package 2,” although details of what that entails are scarce.
Oh, and as far as the potential demise of the V6 Mustang, just remember to keep this in mind: the EcoBoost Mustang already packs more power than the V6 variant, and the V8 remains the favorite among all models offered.

Mustang 2017 Manual V6
How many miles should I be able to get out of this car ??? I don't abuse my cars, and do regular maintenance. I use synthetic oil everything 5-7k miles, rotate tires at every oil change. I also believe in changing out ALL fluids like transmission, differential, brake, steering and coolant - once a year !!!!! the car is also garaged and out of the bad weather and put roughly 16k miles a year on my vehicle. So that all being said, wondering if anyone else out there, who treats their car the same who had the V6 model for a long time. Just wondering how many miles some people have gotten out of their Ford Mustang V6 vehicles?? 200k? 300k? 400k? 500k?
