2016 Mustang "Clunk" noise

Hello, I have had my V6 automatic 2016 mustang for 2 months now (1800miles) and it recently started making a metallic "clunk" noise when being shifted from P to R (Almost like you're hitting 2 dumbbells or plates together at the gym). Even has done it going from Park to Drive. I have let it warm up, tried different things, but always makes the noise. I have been researching and others have taken it to the dealer and was told that its a normal sound they all make. Does this sound normal? Any idea what would cause it? I love the car but the sound is scary:confused: Thanks!

Might be the driveshaft ... and very well could be normal.

My 2016 just started to do it. Do you have any vibrations in the car at about 60 mph and up?

I thought I do but sometimes it goes away so I thought it was just the bumpy California roads. I'll have to try on a smooth road, but that also Sounds like your tires are unbalanced

Dealer replaced drive shaft twice and it still vibrates alot at 70-76mph. Can be felt at lower speeds also. Dealer was told by Ford to tell me its a characteristic of the new mustangs. Tires were check and found to be ok.

That's the same noise mine has been making since around 1000 miles. Now I'm at 12,000 miles and it still does it but people say it is normal. My car was also in the shop for a week this past week because the car goes into limp mode. Basically Ford said since I changed my wheels and tires from the stock to 19"
that the car is thowing of the torque and causing the car to go into limp mode. (They are looking for anything aftermarket so they don't have to do the work) I called another dealership and they said that's the dumbest **** they've heard. So depending on what dealer you go to make sure to have the factory tires cuz ford asks them if there are any modifications. But as far as the clunk noise mine has been doin that forever and nothing has happened and people say it's normal. Sucks though : (
