2015 V6 with less then 3000 miles blown up
Trying to see if there is any other V6 owners out there that have had motor issues, with less then 3000 miles on my car started knocking very bad an towed to dealer. a month later finally got a call that it was the motor due to a water pump issue leaking into motor and destroyed bearings an cylinder heads. well 4 months later finally went to pick up car an asked if I could speak to technician that did the repairs to try an find out why this happened and if it was going to do it again. Well they didn't seem to want me to talk to tech. as said he was out an would have him call me and never heard from him. well now with 8,700 miles on it I have recently started hearing a lil bit of tapping noise again from motor and I'm just reaching out to see if there are any other V6 owners with any engine or clutch problems? Appreciate any response as I'm trying to see if dealer lied to me about repairs that were done , an this water pump issue all 2015 v6's mustangs have been having !!! Thanks so much

Apparently water pump failures on the 3.7 are common place. Mine just went out on my 2014 with 42K on the odometer. I've seen reports of them going out with as little as 21K. Yours is the least amount of miles with a water pump failure I have seen but suffice it to say that Ford is obviously putting the crapiest water pumps known to man on these V6 motors. There is no excuse for water pumps to fail with less than 50K on the car. Just substandard junk. No more Fords for me.

An internal leak from the water pump is different than the one that most people experience. If this indeed the cause it would be related to an engine assembly and or casting issue.
The common failure is that water starts leaking externally around the bearing/seal assembly that is behind the pulley.
The cause of the more common failure (happened to my 2012 at 45K miles) seems to be that the OE hose that connects the pump to the expansion tank allows air to enter the system. When the air pressurizes with heat it pushes coolant past the bearing/seal. When you get a new pump from Ford the kit includes a new hose with a 1 way valve that prevents this from occurring.
