2012 Boss 302 @ Hallett Racing Circuit

Here is a link of me running around Hallett Racing Circuit near Tulsa Oklahoma.
I would love for the group to critique my driving. I want to get better.

Nice going! Looking pretty good. :metal:

It's a bit hard to critique anything other than your line without seeing your steering inputs or shift points etc. Only thing I noticed was a few early apexes and just a few corners where I thought you could have gone wider to use more track on the exits. And it's hard to tell but it looked like the car was jerky in a few spots. Not sure if that was edge of the tire envelope or your inputs, but one thing I always try to improve with my driving is smoothness and accuracy of my steering/throttle and brake inputs.

Nice work! How often do you track your Boss?

If you're interested in seeing more track videos dmichaels, PJRManagement and a few other members have a bunch in the Mustang Motorsports section, and I have a couple in the thread below.

One other thing I forgot. Some clubs, like BMW CCA assigns you an instructor for each session. That's one of the best ways to do a "driver mod".:nice:

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it. Yeah my apexes were a bit early and late due to excessive braking, poor car placement and like of confidence in my ability. :)

I have only tracked the car one other time. Most of the time I just play around in the local autocrosses.

I have another day scheduled at this track in May.

Thanks for the racing links. I will check em out

I saw the same things as mentioned above. I saw the early apex on turn 2, that 90ish degree left hander. You can go wider and deeper before you turn in and carry more speed through that corner for sure and it will set you up for 3 on the right hand switchback better.

It's awesome that you are tracking your car and not just letting it look pretty. I did 3 laps around the Nurburgring last summer and learned a ton just from that. I had a friend take me around in his M3 after my first lap and he showed me the good driving line. 8:46 in a stock car with myself and son in the back. Then he rode with me for my second lap. I cut a whole minute off my time just having him talk me through the key points for turn-in and braking. Find someone who is familiar with the track and have them ride with you if not an instructor like what was mentioned. Hopefully I get to go this year before I head back to the states or my car sells. If I end up bringing it back with me then I plan on hitting this section up quite a bit in the future with SCCA days autocrossing and some track days at VIR.

Keep up the good work!
