So Much Complaining
I'm sorry mods, for the hard work that you do and isn't appreciated. After following a thread complaining that there was no California Special section, I am shocked that has been up for days now and no topics! At any given time there are 35-70 people looking at the Boss thread, and for good reason too! What? Where are all the loyal GT/CS owners? Come guys, you are better than this :poke:
|
this has been brought up over the years a few times. I think it all came down to a CS being a GT with options. It would be like having a sub forum for glass roofs or heated seats or the GT trim packages.
|
See I told you so
There I said it |

Where the hell is Scott? This has got to be fixed! |
I consider the California Special to be the longest running special editon Mustang. I would like to see it replaced with a Boss Mustang special editon.
|
In the process of trading my BMW 535i for a new GT/CS. I'll be here more often soon :)

California Special: 1968, 2007-09, and 2011-14. That's 8 model years. GT500: 1967-70, and 2007-14. That's 12 model years. Mach 1: 1969-1978, and 2003-04. That's 12 model years. |
Why isn't there a subforum for people that wanted a GT/CS but thought the color palete sucked, so they bought a GT in the color they wanted and then added all the GT/CS bits, then also added lemans stripes? sheesh, help a girl out.

That doesn't seem specific enough

WOOT! A GT/CS subforum! To all those people saying the CS is not a special edition... stop it! It is. lol
|
Like it or not the GT/CS been a special edition since 68. It is a part of the mustang heritage. Just because it was available as a package option in recent years doesn't negate the fact. It has always been an appearance package, and the nod to the 68 is part of the reason i chose the model. Plus you can add all the parts you want, it doesn't make it a true GT/CS any more than putting a GT500 kit on my car makes it a GT500.
I for one am glad to see the new section of the forum. GTCS'ers unite! |
I cannot believe there is so much hate for this model from within the Mustang community! Yeah it's just body parts and some cool bits inside but I still enjoy mine. I enjoy being one of the only ones in my area with this model and color. Although that puts me at an disadvantage when it comes to the law!
|
I think it's funny at car events I get "oh it's just a CS" from other Mustang enthusiast.

no its not... its a factory option! I guess anything you can order is a special edition. the V6 PP is more different then a normal v6 then a CS is to a GT. A club america car is also a factory option.

I for one am glad to see the new section of the forum. GTCS'ers unite! a GT500 is a GT500 because its numbers and has a different motor and a few other factors.

I'm well aware of what a GT500 is. How bout you re read my post and try again. Unless you have a Delorian in your garage too, you can't go back in time and not make it a special edition.
My question is why even post on this thread? Your not changing anyone's mind....and your responses show you didn't take the time to read the other posts... |
The Bullitt was also a package option, but no one seems to take issue with calling it a special edition... or having a special section for it :dunno: I'm not hating on the Bullitt btw. I had one that was sacrificed to the divorce gods. It was a package option that was well worth the money... as is the GT/CS.
|
I always liked the GT/CS, If I were to buy a new GT on the lot , the GT/CS would be my choice everytime over the GT premium.

Whereas the CS is still available after several years now correct? And it isn't issued a production number right? |
What about a sub-forum for peeps who wanted a BOSS vert but had to settle for a stinking GT500?
|
Why is this so heated? Unless I'm reading it wrong...
Anyways last time I checked, the cs had all the cool parts that the gt people put on their cars. Like all the 2010+ with the cs fascia. Probably the most popular front bumper for those cars. The bosses have the cs fascias plus a little. The Shelby gts from 07 and 08 had their bumpers. Lots of good options that were supplied on the cs cars, and yeah they are a special edition. I don't think many people get it though haha |
It's a trim package
There's no difference between a CS VIN and a GT VIN. But with that said the newer CS owners asked for a sub forum and the admin gods granted it. What's the big deal? |

Prob because it was promoted as a limited production of 7000 units (7700 incl Canada). Initially planned for only 1 year but thanx to our Saudi friends and their $4 gas in 2008, the run spilled into 09 for a total of 6500ish units.

This thread has turned a little too crazy. But, if my car is #109 of 170 i wonder if that makes it just a little special. Or maybe it's just special to me...i guess i'll take that!

I consider it a special edition vehicle. Not just because I own one, but because It has a pretty long heritage back to '68. Only recently is it "just an options package" to the mustang crowd. |
