Front Grill Pony Emblem
 

Any tips for taking the tri-bar pony off the front grill? I see how it mounts but having trouble getting to it. I thought maybe taking that snap in plastic cover that runs over the radiator might open up a hole to get to it but everything was pressed right up to the front. Do I need to take the whole grill out to remove it? Thanks for any advice.

Honestly, you just need small, girly hands to get behind the grille. I was able to do it with a bit of work.

It is held on with two hand tight cheap nuts on the plastic posts, one top ad one bottom. You shouldn't need tools to get them off - I didn't once I wedged my hand and arm deep enough to reach them.

This mirrors my experience... although I had to find someone with the "small, girly hands".

I finally managed to get around to trying this. So I managed to get my hands and a bit of arm in through the grill latch hole after taking off the plastic piece again. I can get my hands on them but I just can't seem to get them to turn. I just can't get enough movement or the nuts are on tighter than expected. I wish I knew what size the nuts were so I might could finesse a tool in there to help. My arms are so scraped and red, it looks like I got into a fight with a big cat. I'm pretty frustrated right now :(

You are on the right track it seems. The nuts are not that big, maybe 3/8 or 7/16 (don't quote me on that) and you may be able to get at them with an open end wrench but I doubt a socket could get in there.

Place two hands on the grill firmly and yank forward. The grill pops right out via snaps. Then unscrew the pony as desired and push the grill back in! Ridiculously easy to do!
