2014 Unofficial Production Numbers

2014 Unofficial Production Numbers:

I am posting the Unofficial Productions Number that is based on the cars I have documented in my database. Once I receive the Official numbers from Ford I will have to audit my database to make any corrections or look for any missing cars. I can also do queries on my database if anyone is interested on seeing how many cars were built like theirs. The official number should be ready by late October.

Total GT/CS Built of 2014: 4,507...
Coupes: 3,086
Convertibles: 1,421

Black Coupes: 958 Convertibles: 471
Oxford White Coupes: 769 Convertibles: 373
Race Red Coupes: 457 Convertibles: 246
Deep Impact Blue Coupes: 303 Convertibles: 90
Ingot Silver Coupes: 149 Convertibles: 63
Sterling Grey Coupes: 417 Convertibles: 164
Gotta Have it Green Coupes: 32 Convertibles: 14
Grabber Blue Coupes: 1

I hope this will help the 2014 owners get an estimate on how many cars that I found for 2014 and to see how many were built.
Ron Davis

Any break down by tranny? I have a white vert CS with a stick. Curious how many of those were made.

I don't break down the production numbers in my database by US, Canada or other exports so I can't give you those numbers. Also Ford does not break the cars down by this as well.

I know this an OLD thread but I just so happened to notice that there are no ruby red mustangs listed. I'm trying to find production numbers on 2014 Roush mustangs as I have a ruby red stage 3

Stage 3 Roush has nothing to do with the California Special GT and that is what those numbers are from.

First of all, Ruby Red didn't exist until the beginning of the 2013 model year... Prior to 2013, it was known as Red Candy Metallic... From 2005-10 it was known as Redfire Metallic.. The current S550 (2015-2022) California Special does in fact include Ruby Red!

The Red Candy California Special was only available in 2011, not 2012 or 2013 and not in the Ruby in 2014 either.

Might want to check that… The GT/CS was made in 2011-2014, but the Red Candy Metallic paint was only available through 2013. You are right that Ruby Red was not there for 2014 GT/CS even though it was available for the other GTs in 2014. I had to double check, but I looked at a 2014 Race Red GT/CS before I decided to order mine.

2011 Red Candy CS/GT was available.
2012 color availability no number 7 in the Red Candy list so no CS/GT
Red Candy Metallic Tinted Clearcoat1 1 2 3 4 5 3 4 5 10
7 California Special Edition (Black side stripes) 8, 9, 10 Premier Trim With Color Accent Package (exterior stripes not available)
And the same list from the 2013 Brochure has no Red Candy CS/GT either
California Special in this brochure was 8
Red Candy Metallic Tinted Clearcoat1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 4 5 6 7 11
I know they had the California Special but the only year Red Candy was available on it was the 2011. They also kept Lava Red and Kona Blue off the CS.

I feel like I started a heated debate. Sorry guys, I didn't realize that this was for just the GT/CS. It just struck me as odd to not see ruby red for the car.

No heated debate, just knew the GT/CS was around until 2014, was not sure of the colors. Found a few sites that said it was in Red Candy, guess they were wrong. Thanks @Siber Express for making it clear.

Red candy has a gold base color where Ruby red has silver. In 2011 a tsunami in Japan caused many car manufatures to change or limit colors even in the middle of production.

That is why Kona Blue was stopped and Deep Impact Blue replaced it as well as Lava Red leaving and Sterling Grey coming back.

First off! If you had interpreted the previous post accurately? not a single word was mentioned about the 2014 California Special as being in Ruby Red.. I clearly stated it wasn't until the current gen S550 California Special Edition that Ruby Red Metallic was included.. I also clearly stated that prior to the 2013 model year, Ruby Red didn't exist, in other words, it didn't exist as a color option at all.. It was rather Red Candy Metallic instead, but was only included on the 2011 California Special.. Therefore, Race Red was the only option available in red for the 2012- 2014 California Special...However, I will stand by my previous statement for which Ruby Red Metallic is in fact included as a color option for the current S550 California Special Edition...

This I also agree... However, I never posted anything in regards that Ruby Red was a color option for the 2014 GT/CS!

Don't Sweat it!

The Safe Word is TABASCO! Which Incidentally is RED!
