Looking forward to your feedback PRJ. Sounds like a great street tire. MSPP was top of it's class for track days, so I'm curious to see how you like the Firesone. They look good though!

I went with Conti ExtreameContact DWs for my street tire. ~$155 per tire in 255/40-19. They grip pretty well on the street and ride better that PZeros.

For the track I'm going up to extreme performance summer tires. After 3 years of driver mod and suspension mods corner grip is the next weak link :nice:

I had Conti DW for a couple years. Great street tire, very quiet. But they howled loudly on the track. Great price, too.

Speaking of great prices, I just pulled the trigger on my next set of track tires.

Right now Tire Rack has the Hankook Ventus R-S3 V2 for $126 in 275/35-19. It was my #3 choice in Extreme Performance Summer category when they were $260, but this is a great deal!! Street legal R comps for $562 delivered is nuts!

bumping an old thread. whats the take on Indy 500s then? how many miles did they last?

my tires are coming up for a change within the next few months.

options include.

1. Indy 500
2. Continental Extremecontact DWS 06
3. bf goodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S

last 2 are recommended by tirerack, any other options?

looking for tires for a daily driver, stock car (2013 Mustang GT), lowered around 1.5 inches all around. no driving in snow or winters.

Hey Munchy. I really liked the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s, a lot. Great on the street. And good enough for the track (road course), if you're not trying to break any speed records, that is. The performance and the price are very good. I've since upgraded my wheels, so my new tires sizes are different now (F=19x10 285/35, R=19x11 305/35). I bought my wheels/tires as a package, and it came with Nitto NT555G2. These new Nitto tires remind me a lot of the Firestones. When I wear these out, I'll see if the Firestones come in my new sizes, and I would buy them again, for sure.

Hi Munchy. I sold off my old wheels with the Firestones on them, did not have them very long. My guess is you can get 20k miles of street driving, no problem.
