SVE S350 Wheels with Nitto NT555G2 tires for my 2011 GT
SVE S350 Wheels with Nitto NT555G2 tires for my 2011 GT. Sizes are: Front 19x10 with 285/35 19; Rear 19x11 with 305/35 19. I made a silly video, try not to roast me!

Looking good Pete. Love the background music.
How are you liking them so far? I remember your impressions toward the MPSS weren't as expected a while back. I did too end up getting these, after Michelin made me wait 3months with no ETAs. Similar sizes too, mine are Front: 20x9.5 285/30ZR20, Rear: 20x10.5 305/30ZR20. Is that the 6piston gt500 brembos in front? |

I wanted to get a video going to give others a good look at these wheels/tires. S197 guys who may want to go wider, like me (and you, too). So far, I like them, and grip around town in spirited driving is improved, a lot...braking, too. The look is great, IMO. I know SVE is not the greatest product, but the fact that they offer an affordable wider package for S197 with the correct backspacing and offset is what sold me. Also, they are flow-formed, 7 pounds lighter per corner than my previous rims. I can't wait to get them onto the track. Post pics of yours, please. Also, my brake set-up is: Front 2012 GT500 14" 4-piston, Rear 2014 GT500 13.8" 1-piston - steel lines all around. |

You sure are such an inspiration! I thank you again for a good advise on the rear view mirror squeaking, replaced it under warranty. Following your helpful thread, I'm also looking forward to do the gt500 rear brake upgrade :D
Excellent choice on the SVE flow-form wheels, they look great! Here's a pic of mine. They were on sale, couldn't resist. Attachment 183559 Attachment 183560 |
WOW - those look fantastic. Forgestar??
** edit - duh, I just saw the logo, HRE, sorry. Great looking! |
They look great. The 305 tires look like a great fit on the 11" rim with no ballooning. By any chance did you weigh the rear rim and tire together?

Thanks, I agree. 285 for 10" and 305 for 11" are spot-on. Here's the weights: FRONT: 19x10 wheel = 24 lbs, 285/35 tire = 32 lbs, Front Total = 56 lbs. REAR: 19x11 wheel = 25 lbs, 305/35 tire = 35 lbs, Rear Total = 60 lbs. Too be honest, I did not personally weigh each one on a scale, I got this information from the website. But I did feel them being lighter when I compared them to my previous set as I took them off (and put them on) the car. |

I have the brackets to fit the gt500 brakes but was holding off in order not to add any more weight. |

Thanks. I needed those rear 13.8" discs because I was cooking the smaller original rears at the track. These larger ones do not over heat. I painted those rear calipers black (DupliColor) to match the fronts. |
:nice:

I have been very happy with the G2's. I only went up one size to 265 from 255 on stock Brembo style wheels. They leave the Pirelli's in the dust in all ways.

Nice car homie! I am also in Vegas, just picked up a 2014 GT track pack a month ago. Are those 305s hooking pretty well?

Nice to meet a fellow Mustang-er in LV. I'm in Henderson. I recently joined a fun group of folks that is a growing club here...SSM - Silver State Mustangs...find them on Facebook - check it out. We just did a track event together in April, which was a lot of fun. Grip overall with the new wheels/tires is noticeably improved. I don't drag race, or run hard from a dig, my car is a driver / occasional road-course-track-toy. I am anxious to get this new set-up to the track for some road-racing soon. |

Nice to meet you too. I am in the Southwest (mtns edge) area. Just met a guy from SSM, his name is John and works at Desert 215 dodge superstore. Would love to get out to one of the meets with you guys.
Where are you planning the track day? |

Track days are mostly at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, it is awesome there. Usually with the Porsche Club Las Vegas (PCA-LVR) or SpeedVentures. Go to both websites to get on their e-mail lists. That way you can get advance notice of the track days. The next one is this weekend - Memorial Day weekend. I can't do it because I'm taking the family out of town. Then the next events are Sept and Nov. The Porsche Club offers an excellent beginners high performance driving instruction program, I did it years ago, and it was invaluable. I'll PM you my info. Go to Facebook for SSM. |
s350 wheels
Was looking at the same wheels for my 2013. Are you lowered by chance? and if so how low? I'm lowered by 1.5 front and back and was a bit worried that the larger tire in front would rub.

Eibach Pro in front, 1.5", with J&M c/c plates. Eibach Sport in rear, 2.0". No rubbing, good clearance. I was worried too beforehand... |
noticed you went with the 285/35 instead of the 285/40. Any reason?

Several reasons: * OEM diameter is approximately 27", so I want to stay as close to that as possible. 285/35 19 = 26.9" ; 285/40 19 = 28". * not sure if 285/40 will clear at full-wheel-lock. * 285/35 most closely matches 305/35 in diameter (I have 305/35 in the rear). * this was a wheel and tire package that I purchased, so these are the sizes that came matched as a set together. |
