K Spring Installation

Hey all, I ordered FRPP K springs and FRPP upper strut mounts today, among other things. I've looked and can't find specific torque specs for both upper and lower strut mounts, any chance anyone has a shop manual or knows the correct lb/ft off hand? I'm plenty comfortable with suspension work, just wanted to be safe. (Will post pictures after the install this coming weekend.)

You'll love them! Just installed onto my Convertible two weekends ago.

Have read of some who were not happy with the harshness of the K's, with the 1.5" drop as compared to the P's with their 1" drop.

Link to a fully browsable on line 2011 manual.

If interested, I've a thread that discusses my install and complications that arose.

Don't see mine as harsh, just a little stiffer than stock, which some might see as harsh.

You guys are awesome, advice, links, and honest opinions, this is exactly why this forum is the best. As far as harshness I'm not concerned, my last car was an '08 Eclipse GT on Tein coilovers that was tucking tire, the ride on K's can't hurt any more than that...

I have had the K's on for about 3500 miles so far with the stock Brembo struts/springs. The ride is VERY firm compared to stock. The drop is visually perfect. I will be getting the Koni SRT's down the road to soften the ride a bit.

remember to cut the top knub off (approx. 3/4") on your rear jounce stops....

TheDivaDanielle Sep 21, 2012 04:06 PM

I never cutt fronts (car was reassembled by the time I remembered) but I cut the rears.

autobred Sep 21, 2012 04:09 PM

fronts are fine, depends on how much drop you got for the rears on your K springs, mine left me with 5/8" before it hit the frame, not happening.....I just cut the mushroom head off and made a world of difference

The Mounts are for use with '10 and older struts, not the springs. Unless those "other things" are '05-'10 struts
