Hawk hps vs hawk ceramic brakes

Ok, I need some help here. I have used the hawk hps pads and like them. I have had some squeaking with them but it's minimal. I ordered some new hps pads for my front Brembo calipers and they shipped me the ceramics. I've been told that the ceramics are quieter and are better when cold. Does anyone have experience with these? I plan to track my car next year. I may track her once or twice year. I'm not going to swap pads. What do you guys think?

No experience with Hawk or ceramics in track applications, but I wouldn't risk it.

Get proper track pads. Last thing you want is faded brakes 10 minutes into your session. Plus if you like to hit your brake zones late, faded brakes can be disastrous. I'd play it safe a and swap proper track pads with high temp ability before your events. I use the stock Ferrodo pads on the street, and swap to Carbotech XP10 up front. I have XP8s permanently on the back. Awesome performance at the track all day long. I can out-brake much lighter cars and close on them in the brake zones.

If you don't want to ship the ceramics back, I might take them off your hands...

Lol. Maybe. I'm considering trying them. If I take my car to a track, it might be better to change the pads. I don't know. Have you tried ceramic pads? I've never used any brand of them before. What do you think of them?

Actually have some Akebono ceramics on my Escape. Nothing really remarkable to report other than zero dust, which I need. The stock Brembo pads dust like no other!

Look at this chart. Ceramics are not even recommended for AutoX, not to mention track days.

I ended up trading in the ceramics for the hawk hps I originally ordered. Maybe I'll try something different next time. I've used the hawk hps before and these are just what I expected.

I like my hawk pads. I've never been to the track with the though.

I love them. I don't track my car but it is amazing for mountain roads and daily driving.

Does it stop your car better than the OEM brembo pads? How about noise and dust? I am often in Ontario myself. My brother in law lives in there.

I have no noise and a lot less brake dust. They seem to be a little slower to stop when it is cold outside and the pads themselves haven't seen much work. Once they have warmed up, they brake better than the stock pads. This is just my opinion. Lol, I've been wrong many times.

The semi-metallic Hawk HPS pads have a tendency to produce more dust compared to ceramics though they offer better bite and stopping power. Had them and had no major complaints.

The Hawk HPS pads produce less dust than the OEM Brembo pads, correct?

I have them and regret putting them on almost every day-they squeak like mad. Not an install error.
