How was yours delivered? Did it come by UPS or did it arrive on a trailer and you had to unload it? I'm very interested in getting one for my 2019 GT but I'm not sure of the size I need as well as how it will be delivered.

It was delivered by UPS.
There are multiple boxes, heavy, but not too crazy heavy.

So after a few thousand miles I’m ready to get rid of the Mickey Thompson tires. They still have plenty of tread, but traction has become horrible. I have tracked the car on Laguna Seca, and it was bad. I have put the original air filter back, and put the original tune on the car, ready for smog testing, the rear end still breaks out easily. I need to be really careful merging into traffic, not to spin out.
so even though the Mickey Thompson tires were sticky, they became quite hard after a few years, and only a few thousand miles (I only use this car in the weekends. It’s 6 years old, and it has 24k miles on the odometer. The rear Mickeys have only been on the car for about 10k miles).
I’m considering Michelin PS4S. Probably overkill for my application, but I don’t think I’m going to be sorry.

I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sports and they are great tires. Can't say how long they will last; i have had them for about a year and a half. I have used them on road track and they hold up pretty well -- they do get quite hot and sticky on the track.

I hear the PS4S (that's the new version of the PSS, right?) are similar but better, so they should be pretty good too.

Prior to the MPSS, I had Bridgestone Potenza S04's -- these actually perform very close to the MPSS on the track, for me, within my tolerance of knowing the difference (which is pretty broad, LOL)

So I bit the bullet. I’ve ordered the Michelins. It’s a costly affair, but after a lot of internet research I think I won’t be sorry. They should arrive next weekend.

So today I had my new tires mounted. What a difference these pieces of rubber make compared to the old ones!



America’s Tire has done a great job. Balanced the tires first time right!

Amazing how small those rear rotors look. But they get the job done (the front Brembo’s do most of the work)

$338 a pop, excluding all the fees.

Back home after some spirited driving. Wow these tires are soooooo much better compared to the old ones.

Now the Mustang just needs some detailing.

Very nice. Keep us updated on how you like them and how they wear. Been considering them for my next set of tires on the Stang. Curious as to the life, been hearing both good and bad on these. I have always been a Michelin fanboy...

I took the Mustang out for a spin, and all I can say is that the difference between the old tires and these new Michelins is like night and day. The tires are super grippy, and there is an abundance of traction. Also cornering is very solid.
Definitely also more grip compared to when the Mickey Thompson’s were new as well.

but then again, I would expect these to be much better, as they were about twice the price of the MTs.
