The quality is inferior for sure, but I value the content and the fact I don't have to keep messing with my phone. If you're willing to compromise on the sound difference, it's not bad.
Ironically, playing Sirius through the phone over BT to the car has a much better dynamic range. But then I have to mess with my phone again to change channels, etc. Can't win.

I agree that having to mess with your phone is not optimal, however the new touch screen smartphones are getting better all the time re: user interface. You can also get a phone mount that can be installed on the console or dash vent to make using it 'handy'.
