FRPP has an adjustable kit already available, although it's not the same as the BOSS stuff.

Dunno how much cash you wanna spend but the Roush Track Pack kit is pretty solid for the price...rebadged KW coilovers w/ camber plates and rebound adjustment.

I think I might just get in line with koni and order a set of str.t struts to tide me by until the yellow struts show up after some more thought. The car just needs more dampening, bad.

Anybody know if the Boss uses the same oil filter as the GT? (Motorcraft FL500S) I was going to order some to have on hand but I wanted to be sure first.

Based on the downloadable manuals, the Mustang Owner's Guide specifies the FL500S for the 5.0V8, and the Boss Supplemental Manual does not mention the oil filter part number. This would lead me to believe the Boss uses the same oil filter as the GT.

As mentioned earlier, I ordered the Boss 302R wheels (18x10) with Nitto NT-01 275/35/18 tires from Rehagen Racing about 3 weeks ago.

Received them this week, and they are perfect! Wheels and tires mounted great, included the 1/8" spacers for the fronts and the open lug nuts that go with the wheels.

Rehagen did a great job and I'm really happy with them! Now all I need is a Boss to put them on.

Awesome! I've got my Enkei PF01s sitting in boxes in the garage still. Getting ready to pull the trigger on tires...same ones as you but am leaning toward the 275/40/18s. I'm afraid the 35s will really shorten the gearing for the tracks I run. Did Rehagen recommend the 35s or did they not have a strong opinion one way or the other?

Cloud9: Rehagen recommended the 35s because of width clearance issues for the fronts. He felt that the 35s would have more clearance than the 40 series.
Gearing is a concern, but I felt that with the high rpm capability of the Boss, it would be not significant to me.

Thanks. I have some 275/35/18s already mounted up on my other set of Enkeis, so I'll test fit those first. I wonder if they were worried about the inner fender or outer fender lip with the taller tire? I wouldn't think a taller tire would be an issue with the strut.

I agree, but without a speed limiter shutoff I'll top out at 152.9 at BIR with the 35 at 7500 RPM. The 40 would go to 159. That's all if the PCM doesn't shut it down at 7170 RPM which is where you'd hit 155 mph with the stock 27.1" tall Pirelli. I'm just not sure how the PCM calcs speed, but I'm guessing from the stock speedometer. The stock speedo would be showing 155 at 7170 RPMs with the 35 tire if my calcs are correct. That would only be an actual speed of 146 MPH with the 275/35/18.

Overboost 3/4/11 10:51 AM

All this talk of clearance issues with 275/40/18s worries me. I bought some G-force TA KD's at the garage sale and planned on running those to start this year. Granted, they're on Roush RR03s with a stock (for now) suspension. I'll have to try them on soon and see what issues I might have.

StillIntense 3/4/11 01:28 PM

Guys, the clearance issue that Rehagen mentioned to me had to do with clearing the strut, not the fender. Hence the reason for the 1/8" spacers. Here's how the two tires measure up, using the Nitto website specs:
width (mounted) height (inflated)
275/35/18 10.91" 25.55"
275/40/18 10.94" 26.65"

So the 35 is only 3/100ths of an inch narrower than the 40 series, but is 1.1" shorter.
Don't know how this improves clearance, but Rehagen puts a lot of tires on a lot of cars with the same body as a Boss 302, so I had to go with their recommendation.

I wonder if there's much movement of the tire near the strut under lateral load? There's flex at the contact patch, but not sure about higher up. Just wondering what to look for when test fitting these on the Boss. It looked to me the nearest obstacle was the upper sway bar bolt on the 2011 GT I looked at.
