2012 Boss Final numbers..

Does anyone have info on the final numbers built?
Like how many Regular Boss and how many of the Laguna Seca were made?
Just wondering if they made more or less then the advertised 4000 run?

11SHELBYGT500 1/1/12 09:20 AM

Has production stopped? I thought it hadn't, yet.

Yes, from what I heard its finished..

PTRocks 1/1/12 02:15 PM

As far as I know, production for the Laguna Secas ended Dec. 3rd with 764 built. The likely last regular Boss started down the line Dec. 23rd. I have found 3249 regular Bosses, I probably missed entering the info from the last one.

2 Go Snake 1/1/12 11:20 PM

I was also wondering how many Boss 302 and LS Mustangs were produced. Sounds like Ford lived up to its goal for the 2012 Model Run. Very interesting. Appreciate the information.

Five Oh Brian 1/1/12 11:37 PM

#3023 just arrived at the dealership I work for 2 days ago. Fairly high number. Our Laguna Seca that arrived a couple weeks ago was #693 - again, fairly high number. Glad that Ford made as many as projected. That hasn't always been the case with other specialty Mustangs in the past decade.

Thanks Brian, I've added your cars to the database.

I know they only made 135 L.S.'s in silver.

Actually, it's 150 silver LSes, 151 if you count one pre-production car that appears to have been released.

davesvt2000 1/2/12 01:43 PM

Any idea why the 14 extra LS's ?

Brian, What date was #3023 built? My CO Boss was built on 12/8 and I won't know its Boss Number until it finally arrives, which is possibly happening tomorrow.:banana:

MyStang2010GB 1/3/12 07:16 AM

Laguna Seca #0749 arrived at Brandon Ford in Brandon, FL. Its Black/red combo

Takiotoshi 1/4/12 10:08 AM

How many 302 have been sold , in my area I believe are about 20 still available .

davesvt2000 1/4/12 01:51 PM

So I'll ask again, anyone know why there appears to be an extra 14 Laguna Secas made ?

:dunno:

There's a lot more currently available because Ford decided to offer unexpected end of year allocations to many dealers, which they accepted, so many Boss 302 got built in December. Had they not done this, then they wouldn't have built their projected numbers and there would have been fewer remaining. Still I doubt there will be many, if any, 2012 Boss around when the 2013's start being built, mostly because the 2012's will be priced to sell without ADMs.

:dunno:

Nope. However, if you look at the notes, you will see a couple were lost in transit, and a few were built for special purposes. But other than that? :dunno:

boss man 1/5/12 12:30 PM

As fast as people are wrecking them, you will be at that 4000 mark real quick. I would not worry about a few extra cars. if it was 500 or better then I would be concerned. One thing I can say for sure is: It does'nt matter how many were built, I'm very proud to be the owner of the best Boss 302 ever built. This car will remain with me to enjoy untill I return to DIRT. I plan on living untill 2068.....LOL (I hope). This will put me at 110 years old. You may say I'm the final owner untill 2068.

Hey folks,

I've been playing with the database, trying to come up with an easy way to show which cars we have the Boss numbers for. Let me know if you have any suggestions to improve the format.

If your Boss number is in red, at this time all we need is the last four digits of your vin, the Boss number, and the paint colours as a check.

The attached pdf shows all the cars.

EDIT: FYI, once the chart is set up, it updates automatically, as do the option summary tables. At least I don't have to do all of this manually. Entering car and owner info is more than enough work for me thanks.

For now. I wanted to decide on the format before making the other chart.

Numbers-wise: we have 459/3250 Bosses (14%), and 171/764 LSes (22%).

If your ever on the east coast (New Jersey) I will treat you to a ride in the Best and Fastest color Boss ever Produced. Many others have made claimed be we all know it was Yellow Blaze. This is why the color was discontinuied in August. My fortune teller told me so......LOL

Oh my god, that's funny, I did the same, went to purchase a Black LS, and wife was with me and said ' no way, no back seat and that horrible color scheme' and goes on and on about her feelings about the colors.. Myself I like it, but I'm married and needs wife's ok, when I showed her the Kona Blue she loved it.

Zoldier 1/7/12 07:38 AM

Mine was pissed off I bought one period. I didnt tell her until the salesman drove up from Oklahoma to Kansas to sign the paper work. She was like sign what? lol.

2 Go Snake 1/7/12 01:28 PM

Wow, Texas received 386 Boss 302 and 111 Boss 302 LS Mustangs. Minnesota only received 28 Boss 302 and 9 Boss 302 LS Mustangs. No wonder I have not seen any Boss Mustangs on the streets or highways of Minnesota. For 2012, Ford had better double the production of 2013 Boss Mustangs to get more Boss Mustangs up in Minnesota.

The dealer quota of Bosses per state is directly proportional to the number of Boss driveable weather days per year in that state.

I bought both the Boss and the '65 without checking with my wife. I owe her a Corvette. Trying to talk her into a 2013 Boss.

5 DOT 0 1/7/12 04:23 PM

My wife grew up riding in a 1966 Mustang so she was fully on board with the purchase. :nice:

In that case, the South Dakota '13 allocation needs to be increased big time with this winter (actually, we can't call this winter).

1967 stingray with a 427 and the stinger hood is what she should get for putting up with your insane Boss Lust. What year does she like?
My wife wants the new Cadillac.

bluemax 1/8/12 03:09 PM

I love these stories...

I have owned numerous 65-66 Mustangs over the years, but the wife has always wanted a '69 Boss or Mach 1. After years of putting her off she finally decided on a new '08 Shelby convertible... when the deal fell thru, she was so pissed, she went out and bought a new Z4.

So, when the desire for the new Boss came up, she was all in... but she still won't sell her little hot rod. :D

phiggs54 1/8/12 03:15 PM

My baby sister (46 but still the baby) has a Z4. That is a fun car! I am getting her out to the track this spring.

Thank God for wives (:banana::banana::banana:), or we would all be driving Boss 302 Laguna Secas (:salute::salute::salute:).

Wait a minute, that came out wrong.:heh::heh:

Maybe that is why I'm satisfied with a standard street Boss, must be the wife and kids:p:p.

My wife was the opposite, she wanted the Black and red LS. I didn't want to pay the ADM for one. Now she saying we should of got an 302S. (if only I had the money) :(

SHe likes the late 70s early 80s style. She got hooked on them when she saw Rush Hour. But she wants T tops, not convertible.

Yeah, that turned my head so fast and hard that I had to go to the chiropractor the next day. And after looking at the pic again, I think I prefer the '12 Boss 'C' stripe.
