If we really do see it on Friday, then Ford will have done a good job of keeping this thing under wraps during development. We new quite a bit about the 2011s before they came out, based on inference and assumptions, but we've pretty much only been able to speculate on what the Boss will have. Interesting, can't wait.

Btw, I was told by a senior VP of Ford Marketing in the summer of 2006 that the 302 would be back along with a boss. It was at the early unveiling of the gt500 in Tampa. I posted it back then and nobody believed me

Much sooner than 5 years if I can help it. I'm already saving now towards the Boss, just not sure if I should splurge and get the SE or the reg production version. I'm thinkin long term and I'm certain that I will not regret splurging. This is the one Mustang that I have wanted to see a return of since I was a kid. I'm so giddy. I can't wait!!!

Tell me about it. I actually owned a Black Jade '69 Boss 429. But that was years ago and like most everyone else I sold it when insurance and gas prices started to escalate. Been kicking myself ever since...

This isn't likely what's under wraps until next week, but Boss was the development name for the 6.2 that's going into the Raptor and heavy duty trucks. Think they could cast it with an aluminum block and drop it in? I'd be willing to forgive the displacement difference (379 versus 429) if they wanted to call it a boss 429.

And don't expect it to be.
I wouldn't worry.

If it's only 430 HP, I'm cool with it. I can just add a nice cat-back Magnaflow exhaust with X-pipes, and put the rest of my money into the suspension.
If I can order it with the electronics package, I may have a better mindset of what to get. I may be getting a new car soon, it all depends on what Ford offers when I'm buying.

It'll probably set out to do what the Bullitt did for the 05-09's- only a lil bit better. I'm thinking minimal improved horsepower but a nice re-engineering, exhaust, tune, suspension... etc...
Could we then see a lot of these components carry over to the 2014/15???
