Fresh off of the truck, we took delivery of a few more 2015 Mustangs to add to our growing fleet of S550's.

- 2015 Mustang GT PP / 50 Years Appearance / Manual / Black
- 2015 Mustang GT PP / Manual / Competition Orange
- 2015 Mustang EcoBoost PP / 50 Years Appearance / Auto / Competition Orange

Of course, we had to do a smokin' burnout, hit the dyno and the track to get our baseline numbers and give you guys the performance enthusiast's opinion of these new S550s!

Stay tuned for a full review and tons of other new videos dropping soon!

Awesome! But what's up with those mufflers shaking during the burnout?

Seemed to be pretty nasty wheel hop. Not liking what i'm seeing thus far...

So the S197 is both better looking AND faster than the S550? Who would have thought?

We were just as surprised as you were by this! The cars been a little tied up but we're going to get a solid look once we throw a new exhaust on soon!

We knew that it was going to have some traction issues right off the bat as it's inherent with the IRS-Give us a little time! We're still peeling the plastic off the seats and we're definitely not done making passes!

We'll be back, so stay tuned!

How does the shape of that dyno chart compare to a S197 Coyote?

houtex Oct 12, 2014 03:28 PM

"GAH! Give us IRS, 'cause ROAD RACING!"

Then you get the IRS and right off the bat:

"GAH! Give us SRA 'cause DRAG RACING!"

I love that debate. :stirpot: :D

can AM do dyno runs as often as possible on the EB car to see if the hp numbers change during break in.

Hopping like a rabbit ... well we know what Ford may be focusing on for future revisions.

my SRA 2011 gets mad wheel hop.

tom281 Oct 13, 2014 01:04 PM

Disappointing that since December I've been saying the car would gain weight and the IRS would hop and skip around like crazy. Had a SRT8 challenger with IRS and after nearly a grand in suspension upgrades it still hopped.

The s197 hops too but you can fix it with a set of lca's for $200. Hopefully the s550 will be just as easy to fix. Although you can't easily fix the additional weight it gained lol.

Man. I looked at that suspension, via GIS...

Is it me, or is that *really* complicated in the back? Overly so?

Seems like, if I were doing it, that I'd want to just put the carrier in place, and then put four links from a central point, understanding there's going to be some play in the half shafts, so you design for that.

Then you put in a trailing body link (aka, LCA) to stabilize that setup so it doesn't wheel hop.

Once you get it in spec, you don't need adjustments... unless you're lowering/tracking the thing, of course, but that's nothing to design for.

That mess back there seems... a mess. Yeah.

Kinda dig the front suspension simplicity. If the FRONT can be that spindly and simple...

SCT gets 35 more HP and 46 more lb-ft of torque out of EcoBoost Mustang

The latest we've come across are the numbers for one of the first tuners to beef up the output on the EcoBoost’s turbocharged 2.3-liter engine.

The stats come from the guys at SCT who have teamed up with Bama Performance to see how much more power they could squeeze out of the new Ford four-banger.

We absolutely intend on doing so! We've heard that the EB can "loosen" up after some mileage as well!

We've noticed this too and I'm sure that they're going to be going back to the drawing board on a few different things..Aside from the hop I'm overall very pleased with the car. It's night and day coming out of my '08 and I look forward to getting into mine!

It's not that scary back there :grouphug: , but simplicity definitely wasn't on their minds when this was being designed. We're going to doing a full review that should be up soon where we'll have Justin talk about what's going on up front!
