Under hood water leak

My 2016 GT collects rain water in the space between the hood and hood sound padding. When I open the hood, water drips on the battery cover and the ABS control module. Not sure if water is entering through the hood turn signal openings or the forward lip of the hood. A cop who does auto detailing when off-duty told me he's seen rust develop along the forward edge of the hood. Any ideas for a fix?

Possible water leak fix

I had some foam self-stick strips that came with a window a/c. I cut 1/2" strips and stuck them under the forward lip of the hood. Now there's a better air seal between the hood and rubber gasket that's already attached to top of grille and fenders.
