Much needed help for the Base Stereo

This sub worked great in our 2013 Fusion and so it does in our 2015 Mustang for not a lot of $$ or taking up too much trunk space.

So this is incorporated into the base stereo system? How hard was it to do? Is the wiring already in place? Do you need to rip apart the dash, console? How much did it cost if ou had the work done professionally? Let me know :)

Yes, it is installed taking an audio signal off one of the rear deck speakers (high-Level Input). This is a standard Subwoofer install and requires all the wires be run, the most difficult was running a dedicated power source to the battery, through the firewall. I read a thread about installing on a 2014 as there is a grommet under the glove box that goes through he firewall, same in 2015. It required the passenger door sill molding and kick panel to be removed.

We had it professionally installed in our 2013 Fusion and the shop charged $125 and it only took them about an hour.

This is not a big-booming sub but definitely adds bass definition to the base stereo and actually makes the whole system sound fuller. It allows you to turn the bass down on the head unit to reduce the muddiness - now the mids and highs actually sound better as well.

Thanks so much for the help, this is something I think I'll be doing when I get mine. I'm looking for fuller sound, I'm not into heavy bass or hard metal or rap music perse, I just want clearer and fuller sound for the music I listen to. I'd also like to replace all the speakers with better ones like Polk or JBL . Do you think that would also enhance the sound? Should I add an amp and if so what kind of amp?

Just kidding man :p

I like your 5.0, I would get the exact color and rims you have if I was getting a new 1.

I understand if the comments were meant for me that we are talking about the base stereo but I was thinking how to upgrades the base system without getting into the expense and complications of replacing the head unit and losing the Sync, and steering wheel controls.
